    Hey Glen,

    Great question!

I think a better way to approach the query would be to use the tribe_get_events function rather than get_posts, for the simple reason that it automatically fetches upcoming events rather than both past and upcoming.

Here are a few example of how that works:

    Using tribe_get_events

Will that do the trick for you? Please let me know. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Cheers!

    Hi Frederic and happy Friday!

Good question. It looks like your theme has made a customization to the event template — the tickets are displayed at the bottom of the main content by default (screenshot) but it appears the theme has moved that. Would you be willing to reach out to the theme author for guidance on how to move the form back into the main content? They will be much more familiar with what change was made and how to revert it back to default.

    Thanks so much!

    Hey Brian,

Ha! We love that picture around here and use it often in our internal chats. ๐Ÿ™‚

Using !important is sometimes necessary, especially when there are many stylesheets fighting for precedence in the cascade of things. However, it shouldn’t always be needed.

I do know that the Avada theme you are using already includes a ton of it’s own styling customizations to The Events Calendar, so even though you have properly overridden the widget styles in your child theme, it’s quite possible that there is an extra level of customization in there that is superseding it.

Another idea is to use the Simple Custom CSS plugin. That places custom styles in the document head, which will always take precedence in the cascade.

    Cheers!

    Hey Sinai,

These are great questions! Let’s tackle them one at a time. ๐Ÿ™‚

Do I understand correctly that this can be achieved via creating Categories and using this short code โ€“ and embedding on a page etc.:

That is correct. Events Calendar PRO includes a number of shortcodes for the calendar widgets–including the mini calendar–that can be embedded in any page or post and filtered for a specific category or tag.

I understand that your Community Events Product can deliver this functionality, and from what I see you can choose which category you want an event to be submitted

That is correct as well and, in fact kind of answers your next question as well:

Otherwise what I need to know is how do the two products relate โ€“ Event Pro Calendar and Community Events? Do you need to acquire and install the two separately etc.?

Events Calendar PRO has a feature that allows you to specify defaults, such as a default address, venue, and organizerย when publishing events. When it is installed with Community Events, that allows you to set those defaults and it also opens up the possibility for folks to create recurring events as well. One other thing having both plugin together provides is the ability for you to create custom fields for people submitting events.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Cheers!

Hey there, Utsav — great question!

Yes, anyone with a QR scanner on their phone and access to the WordPress admin can check attendees in at the door. I believe anyone with the editorย role and above has that access.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. ๐Ÿ™‚
