I am sorry for the delay. I was out of the office this weekend.

I just tried logging into your site but am getting DNS errors. If I try to visit the .com version listed in the info you shared, I instead get a database error.

    Is your site live yet?

That’s a good question Stewart. In 99% of cases, no. But, there are some outlier themes that store their settings in an odd way, and for whatever reason won’t restore them when you switch back. This is the reason why it is recommended you backup your site first.

Does your website host have a backup and restore utility? Most all of them do. They allow you to take a snapshot of the website exactly as it is now, and at the press of a button you can later restore it. Perhaps you could look into this before doing the conflict test?

    Howdy Rich,

I am glad to hear that helped.

OK that seems to work better, but how do I show this as the same event, not separate events (like a single class that meets every Friday)?

The only way an event can span multiple different times is for it to be recurring. A recurring event is similar to multiple events, but they are all linked together. Users of the site can view a list of all of these linked events using the “See All” button you mentioned.

We are working to make  a series of events more closely linked together. One thing that is the planning stages is a revision for the See All page. Rather than it being a typical WP archive page, which shows the title and brief description for each recurrence, we would like to make to remove all of the redundancy and beautifully list each time & date the event takes place alongside a unified description.

We also are going to add an alert that indicates when recurrences overlap, to help make this a little more intuitive and help folks avoid the issue you initially had.

Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns. I want to help get this setup properly for you.

    Cheers!

    Howdy Brad,

Personally I only have Android phones, so I was not able to post a recommendation. When I made my last response I also reached out to some of our other support reps who use iOS, and inquired what app they prefer. I wanted to offer you a recommendation. One of them posted a link to QuickMark, and I asked them some followup questions to make sure I understood how it behaved. But, I have yet to hear back. That individual should be online in an hour or two, and I can get back to you then with their recommendation.

    Please pardon the delay.

    Howdy Dwayne,

The Events Calendar is a free WordPress.org plugin. We certainly do volunteer support for our free users, but it is done over on WordPress.org. Response times are not quite as quick as our premium support forums here, and we are not able to provide quite the same level of support, but we help as best as we can. 🙂

Just open up a topic there to get going, or if you need fast responses or in-depth support, you might consider getting a license to one of our premium plugins.

    Cheers!

That is excellent news. Thank you for getting back!

I will leave this topic open for a while just in case you need anything related to your other question. Cheers!

    Howdy Again Don,

You should be seeing that link. As you can see in the screenshots for that extension, it contains a link back to the event, and places it right underneath the featured image. Are you not seeing that link with the extensions active?

If so, would you mind grabbing your system information and pasting it here? Make sure to use the ‘Set as private reply’ checkbox to protect your private information from the public. You can find the system info by going to WP Admin > Events > Settings, clicking on the “Help” tab, and scrolling down to the ‘System Information’ box. (Or by going to [yoursite]/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=tribe-events-calendar&tab=help)

Have you deactivated the snippets option?

Our snippets are generally getting updated to become extensions. The Extensions are all around better. If you prefer, you can still take the relevant bits of code out of the extension and paste it in your theme, but I would not recommend it. One of the advantages of extensions is that we keep them updates, and soon plan to release an auto updater for them.

    Cheers!

    Howdy Austin,

That is certainly odd that these events all share different parent IDs. I am not sure what could cause that, if the plugin is behaving all recurrences should contain the same parent.

Do they all share the same title, or slug? If you can find something that is unique to these events, and only these events, deletion should be possible.

That tool is just a fancy version of this SQL snippet:

    https://gist.github.com/elimn/e5de5d2037678de0b926c307022571c5

As you can see, this SQL is basing everything on the ‘post_parent’ column in your wp_posts table. However, if you can find a different column that contains something unique to all of these events, then you can use that column instead of post_parent.

Are you comfortable enough in SQL to modify the WHERE clause of this query? If not, are you able to identify some other column which contains data unique to these events? I’ll gladly help you modify the query if so.

    Cheers!

Very interesting! One of things we have been looking into on our test site is to ensure that the WooCommerce session cookie was getting saved properly. So far it seems to be. But maybe there were multiples?

I would love a look at those log files. Do you have access to Google Drive, Drop Box, or any other file sharing service? If you can upload those there and share a link in a private reply, I will investigate them thoroughly.
