MemberHi Heath,
Rather than converse about the same problem in two different topics I’m going to close this and continue the discussion in your other active support topic:

July 20, 2017 at 7:24 am in reply to: Unable to add venue or organizer when editing an event… #1323816Barry
MemberI’m sorry to hear that you’ve hit up against difficulties, Jane. Let’s run through the scenario first of all just so I can be sure I’m understanding correctly.
If I open an existing event for editing and wish to change the venue I can do so. I can click on Create or Find Venue then select an existing venue or start typing the name of a new venue (at which point a bunch of address fields will become available).
With that done I can hit the update button and save the event without difficulty. Is that essentially the process you are trying to follow? At what point do things go wrong – when you note that you’re not able to save the event itself, do you mean that upon clicking the update/publish button literally nothing happens?
Thanks for clarifying!
Barry
MemberSorry to hear that, Lindsey.
Is it possible that you are trying to enter your Events Calendar PRO license key in the field reserved for Event Aggregator? That might explain this.

In the above screenshot you can see that there are two fields. If in your case you are not seeing a field to enter your Events Calendar PRO field, is it possible that plugin wasn’t reactivated following the theme update issues you experienced?
Barry
MemberHi Scott,
It looks like there was a mixup surrounding a duplicate order and your Events Calendar PRO license was marked as refunded. I’ve now reset it — can you try again?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Henry,
Thanks! We’ve got this logged on our internal bug tracker and will update you once a fix is available by posting in this topic.
Barry
MemberThanks, Scott.
Since my last update we’ve been able to track down some of the errors on our side and this time round I’ve been able to match some of the failures in your screenshots to our own records. It seems that, in many cases, Facebook is simply not returning any results. We’re going to have to dig into this some more to figure out exactly why that would be.
Concurrently, we’ve progressed a number of pieces of work that ought to resolve problems relating to various scenarios involving the import of events from Facebook groups and some other known problems.
We’ve got further work and other bugs still to progress, but improvements are steadily rolling out. Please continue to monitor the situation and hopefully we’ll start to see an decrease in the number of failures caught in the import history tab on your side.

MemberOh no! Sorry to hear that, Martin.
It looks like you indicated having carried out some testing already by deactivating other plugins – but I wonder if you could do that and switch to a default theme, too:
theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts
The reason I ask is most users are not reporting this issue and it does have the hallmarks of a conflict. Alternatively, or additionally, if you are comfortable doing so can you try using your browser dev tools to check if there might be a Javascript-level error?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberOK … my assumption would be that the tool you are using interprets feed items with a publication time of midnight as being “all day”, which of course isn’t necessarily the case.
Something you could try is setting your WordPress timezone to a geographical value such as “America/Vancouver” (and not a numeric GMT or UTC offset): assuming you are not actually located in the UK or any place that basically uses UTC-0 time, I think this will result in the event date/time in the RSS feed being expressed in that timezone.
Perhaps that would provide an easy workaround? You could also check in with the operator of the tool you’re using and see if they have any insights to offer since, best I can tell, there’s nothing fundamentally broken in terms of the RSS output – it’s more an issue with how that tool interprets and processes it.
Barry
MemberAbsolutely. We are actively working on this — but there will be a delay while various changes are tested and deployed.
Barry
MemberHmm. Unfortunately, even with your further note, I’m still not fully understanding. Here’s an extract from the RSS feed you shared:
https://gist.github.com/barryhughes/6dbc082f16b310241fa375d8542f37dc
The first item relates to this event taking place at 4pm on September 7th. In the RSS feed, this shows as the same day (but 11pm at night) – so the same transformation.
The second item is this event, taking place at 5pm on September 11th. As noted before, in the RSS feed it shows as midnight (00:00) the next day. Nowhere though do I see anything in the RSS data suggesting that it is an all day event.
Where are you seeing the reference to it being an all day event? Is there a specific app or tool that you are using to read the feed that interprets it in this way?
Barry
MemberHi AnnMarie,
The publication date in RSS feeds is expressed in the UTC timezone by convention. Based on your system information, it looks like your site operates in UTC-7 and so what you are seeing there is simply 5pm in your local timezone adjusted for UTC.
Does that clarify things at all?
Barry
MemberSo here’s what we’re doing:
- We’re making changes on our own servers to give us better visibility into the origin of this problem
- We will investigate making matching adjustments within The Events Calendar itself
Once we’ve collected the additional data we should be able to close in on the source of these problems. Thanks again for holding out while we dig into this.
