You’re more than welcome to request a refund ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m afraid we can’t process them through the support forum, however. Can I ask that you email support [at] theeventscalendar [dot] com instead (and please include a copy of your receipt)? One of the team will then be happy to assist further.

    Thanks!

    Hi soulofyoga,

Thanks for bearing with us so far.

Am I going to completely rebuild this site from the ground up? This is tedious to just encounter an error again at some point.

I can definitely appreciate it is somewhat time consuming, but the fact is we aren’t seeing widespread reports of this and we can’t replicate it ourselves (even you are having problems replicating the issue), so it’s not an easy thing to solve.

If you can live with the error, or can eliminate it on your live site in the future by changing theme, or can transform the test site (where it doesn’t occur) into the live site – or something of that order – then by no means do we need to continue with this process.

Other than that, we can only offer you guidance and I’m sorry it takes the time that it does.

The plug ins are but the theme isnโ€™t exactly the same, no

Also there was a child theme running with a couple pages we edited. Do you need those?

Yes. The whole point is to duplicate the same components you have on your live site. A theme has just as much potential to “cause damage”, if you want to think of it that way, as an errant plugin.

With that in mind, please ensure that the theme – or parent and child themes in this case – match what you have on your live site in the first instance. If you had introduced any custom code or modifications, such as in your theme’s functions.php file, then those should come across to the test site, too.

From there let’s see if we can create a set of events that are impacted by this issue.

Do you need all of the pages put back in with all of the menus etc also?

Most likely we do not need the same page and menu content – however it could certainly be worth configuring your WordPress, plugin and theme settings just as they are on your live site (if the above steps of making your test plugin/theme stack identical to the live site don’t reveal anything). Your WordPress timezone settings should be the same, to pick an example, and so on ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks again for your patience through this process.

    Fantastic!

What I’ll do at this point is close out this topic: but if anyone hits any further hurdles – related to the latest WooCommerce releases or otherwise – please simply create a new topic and we’ll do our best to help ๐Ÿ™‚

    Thanks again!

    Hi Ben,

Thanks first of all for sharing your solution – and glad you figured something out here ๐Ÿ™‚

While youโ€™re investigating options, a better Themerโ€™s Guide would have been super helpful. I felt like I spent a lot of time just figuring out what files did what. But admittedly Iโ€™m a php hack.

We’re definitely interested in ways that we might improve this (and of course our other resources, such as the knowledgebase).

Can I ask if you have any more specific feedback here? Was it simply lacking the detail you needed in some areas?

    Hi everyone,

WooCommerce Tickets 3.9.1 was just released and resolves this problem.

If you have added either of the temporary fixes above, please remove them before updating: normal operation should be restored as soon as you have 3.9.1 up and running ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks once again for your support and patience while we worked through this issue.

    Hi Winfried,

I appreciate this may seem slightly odd – but the fact is that, by default, tickets are not visible within the regular WooCommerce storefront and this is by design (the expectation being customers will look at the event the tickets were created for and add them to the cart from there).

If you need them to be accessible within the tickets category you can edit each ticket product in the WooCommerce product editor and change the catalog visibility setting from hidden to available in the storefront.

    Does that help at all?

Iโ€™m not sure if its because the map hasnโ€™t loaded prior to getting pulled in with this JS code.

That sounds like a fair guess to me ๐Ÿ™‚

Even if the markup used to house the map is obtained via a get request, it will do nothing without the supporting scripts (and data such as the locations of the pinmarkers, etc) that bring it to life.

As this is very much custom development territory I’m afraid we’re not going to be able to assist further on this occasion – and I will now go ahead and close out this topic. Of course if any other issues arise that we might be able to assist with please don’t hesitate to post fresh forum topics and one of the team will be only too happy to help.

    Thanks again!

    Hi soulofyoga!

OK, so you now have the same stack of plugins and theme as on your live site, have created some test events including recurring events but are finding the issue hasn’t returned – is that a fair summary?

If so, can you confirm those plugins (and your theme) are configured as they are on your live site?

    Thanks for sharing!

Unfortunately nothing obvious is jumping out at me. It’s possible a particular setting needs to be in place or perhaps some other component (a slider, a widget, something of that order) is in place that I don’t have locally and has some part to play.

Perhaps it would be worth setting up a clean test installation with our plugins and your theme and see if you can detect the trigger for this behaviour? Sadly I don’t think we’re well placed or have enough information to progress it further on our side.

    Hi whirlwind,

I’m sorry you’re experiencing difficulties, what an odd issue.

Can you provide more details on what the customixations to our plugin code involved? I do also see you noted having tested without any other plugins running and only a default theme in place: can you confirm that did not highlight any other issues (and were you able to remove your customizations at the same time)?

Last but not least it looks like you are a few versions behind our own releases: please understand that many fixes and improvements are made with each release, so it’s not impossible you are hitting up against a bug that has subsequently been resolved.

    Thanks!

    Hi Benjamin,

We’re investigating ways of making this easier. For the time being, though, you’re right that this would require some amount of customization work.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend modifying core plugin files, but what you want ought to be achievable even so. What I can say is that, regrettably, it is sufficiently complicated to be beyond the scope of assistance that we can provide here on this forum.

Great question Steve: I actually had to check as I wasn’t immediately sure of the answer.

The person placing the order should receive one email containing all the tickets that pertain to the order, even if it covers multiple events.

    Does that answer you question>

    Hi Martin:

There’s no purpose-built functionality for this, but an easy solution would be to modify the event description and include some text with appropriate formatting.

Alternatively, you could certainly add something with more flair through some deeper customization work.

    Does that answer your question?

    Hi Simon,

It’s definitely possible and our own Filter Bar plugin is itself a living example of being able to introduce that sort of filtering capability without any need to modify even a template. Perhaps it would even offer you a shortcut toward your end goal here?

There is no reason of course not to build a completely custom solution if that is what you prefer – I’d hazard to say some backend dev skills would be needed in order to manipulate the queries (so as to respect frontend category selections), though.

    Does that answer your question?
