    Hello,

I am needing to use the filter bar for my Map so that users can filter events by category.

However, the design calls for a couple visual differences:

    – Filters located above the map
    – All categories (5 of them) listed horizontally on one line – they would display as checkboxes

I’m very skilled with front-end development, but wanted to know if this level of customization is possible.

    Thanks!

    Hi Simon,

It’s definitely possible and our own Filter Bar plugin is itself a living example of being able to introduce that sort of filtering capability without any need to modify even a template. Perhaps it would even offer you a shortcut toward your end goal here?

There is no reason of course not to build a completely custom solution if that is what you prefer – I’d hazard to say some backend dev skills would be needed in order to manipulate the queries (so as to respect frontend category selections), though.

    Does that answer your question?
