    Hi @jmkreege,

Sorry to here you’ve hit up against difficulties.

If you can bear with us while we poke at this, we’ll do our best to get back to you as quickly as we can 🙂

    Hi monte.ellis,

Your calendar and event pages look so different from what our plugins produce (even at HTML markup level) that I wanted to pause and ask if you’re still actively using it or if you’ve actually switched to a different solution.

I see your theme basically bakes in a calendar tool of its own … is that what you are using here?

    Thanks for clarifying!

    Hi @kellseystabner,

Sorry to hear you have hit up against some difficulties.

When I view this event I don’t actually see a ticket form (there is a $0.01 call to action box, but that is the event cost with special formatting applied by your theme rather than a button to buy tickets).

Could you take a screenshot of your ticket settings (from within the event editor) and share, by private reply if you prefer?

    Thanks!

Nothing substantial to report, I’m afraid. Work has been underway but some not insignificant work is needed to resolve this and that’s going to take some more time to work through.

Of course, we’ll post an update here once we have something substantive to share 🙂

Event Aggregator should work well in this situation.

    theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-hub-site-event-aggregator

It can import from other instances of The Events Calendar and, by using the REST API, is able to pull in a near exact replica of the original event. The above article describes one possible use for that, but it doesn’t necessarily need to be used in the context of an ‘event hub’ and could be used in your situation, too.

Interesting to hear, it’s seemed (based on feedback from others) that not everyone is able to import, even after marking themselves interested in an event. We’ll poke at this further 🙂

I’d certainly like to hope they are open to feedback and would encourage all users who’d like to see a change to reach out to them directly (though we’ve been in touch with them ourselves, I imagine it could be useful for them to hear from others, too).

Coming back to your core issue re timezones, we can’t control the way timezones are set for individual events (on Facebook), but it is potentially possible to modify event start/end dates and times (and other things) immediately after import. Of course, this is not risk-free as some events may legitimately be described using UTC.

Here is some sample code written for a different user that may be of interest:

    https://gist.github.com/barryhughes/c6772a49c1f561caf528e1fc05903327

Note that in that specific case, it targets imports for a specific iCal feed, but could potentially be modified to work against all imports or just Facebook imports, etc.

I’d love to work with you further on this and help you to tweak it (though I have the impression you may be more than capable of this yourself), but we’re really in custom dev territory here which is typically beyond what we can assist with and, on our side, we haven’t had even the same limited level of success with Facebook imports that you yourself have had.

I hope that helps, though, if only as a starting point 🙂

    Hi Brice,

Thanks for getting in touch ‒ that’s an interesting question!

The current version of Filter Bar requires The Events Calendar 4.5, which in turns requires all other event-related addons to at least be at version 4.4.

With that in mind, what you are requesting would not be possible unless you also roll back to an older version of The Events Calendar and an older version of Filter Bar.

If you were to buy a Filter Bar license we’d certainly consider giving you access to older versions to accommodate this, but I should be clear we do not and cannot offer much in the way of support for long out-of-date versions of our plugins such as these.

I hope that answers your questions, but do let me know if I can assist with anything else 🙂

    Hi Vitor,

Thanks for your interest in our plugins!

I’m not entirely clear as to your goals, but I want to note first of all that you can integrate The Events Calendar with Eventbrite by using our Eventbrite Tickets plugin 🙂

You can also allow users to submit events and add tickets by combining The Events Calendar with the following plugins: Event Tickets, Event Tickets Plus, Community Events and Community Tickets (you would also need to install WooCommerce).

What’s particularly neat about that combination is built in functionality for fee splitting, however I should note that you will need to manually disburse funds unless you already happen to have an approved Adaptive Payments account with PayPal.

Please do take a moment to read through the product pages I linked to if any are of interest and of course let me know if you have any questions about any of this 🙂

    Hi Tory,

Thanks for your interest in our plugins!

With some custom development (nothing too drastic) it would certainly be possible to tweak the iCal functionality to allow this – though there would also be some implications worth considering.

That said, this is the pre-sales forum and I’m afraid we don’t provide technical support here. If you have already purchased a license, please do login and post within the Events Calendar PRO area of the Help Desk 🙂

Alternatively, if you are and wish to remain a free user of just The Events Calendar (which is totally fine!) please seek help from the community over here.

    Thanks!

    Hi!

The site-wide timezone is configured in WordPress’s own General Settings screen. You can then visit the General Settings screen for Events (ie, Events ‣ Settings ‣ General) and scroll down to the timezone section and configure events specifically.

However, I don’t think this will solve your problem. If the source event on Facebook is set to UTC, in the best case it would simply be converted to your local timezone, whatever that might be.

Incidentally, I’m curious as recent changes to the Facebook platform have caused issues for many: are you finding imports are continuing to work for you without any issue?

    Thanks!
