MemberIf you could also let me know your PHP memory_limit setting (you can figure this out yourself using a function such as phpinfo() or simply ask your web host).
Barry
MemberHi Tony, I see you also noted down (when you opened the thread) that you tried disabling other plugins. Am I correct in thinking that you still experienced the 500 error even when only The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO were active?
Can you confirm what version of PHP you are using and if you have access to the server error log (you may need to check in with your web host if you are unsure)? Thanks!

MemberHi Albert,
One possible approach is to set up a translation and within that you could translate “upcoming” to “list”. We can’t really help you with that process but there are some learning resources out there you can refer to for this:
If you don’t need a translation for any other reason than to change the upcoming slug this may be overkill and/or too complicated. If so, an alternative approach could be to add some code to your theme’s functions.php file.
Whichever approach you choose, don’t forget to flush your rewrite rules by visting Settings > Permalinks.

MemberGood to hear you’re all sorted here Mike 🙂

MemberHi Shawn! Thanks for your patience. Unfortunately I cannot replicate this.
Of course I am using Internet Explorer 9 rather than version 8 and so I have to simulate this by putting IE9 into IE8 mode. That still isn’t comparing apples with apples though, everything from your IE8 build to your operating system and the amount of memory on your PC could be contributing factors.
It does however suggest that this is very much a localized issue; perhaps you would be able to utilize an alternative browser for administrative purposes?

MemberAs a further sidenote, I also noticed some odd effects such as unusual delays while the page was put together and at one point this displayed on a completely unstyled page:
Widget Effects by shailan (http://shailan.com) v1.7.2 on wp3.3.1
Numerous errors were evident in the console at that point … so while I can’t replicate this I wonder if those could be factors?

MemberOK, thanks for those instructions.
I’m not sure I can see any difference whether I have the Google Toolbar installed or not, it certainly doesn’t look notably distorted to me (perhaps you are using an earlier version of Internet Explorer)?
I did notice that for instance the resource styling/calendar.css returns a 404, perhaps that could also be impacting?

MemberHi Vivian, so I have an answer for you though it may not be to your liking.
I’ve actually had a few support cases with the same problem recently, so I created this thread which attempts to provide some background information.
In essence, your theme (I presume it is your theme, to be sure you would need to try switching to a default one such as Twenty Eleven – it could alternatively be another plugin) is replacing WordPress’s standard copy of jQuery with one loaded from an external source, in this case from Google.
This is very likely the source of the problem and you should consult with the author or vendor of the theme to see if A) this can be turned off and B) if turning it off will affect the theme in any way.

MemberAll very curious. I’m afraid since the only way I can replicate this locally involves manipulation of file permissions/ownership and since you already seem to have tested out a few things there I will have to refer this up to the chain to one of the developers.
Barry
MemberIn fact, no need – I’ve got a feeling I know what the problem might be. I’m going to try and replicate this locally and troubleshoot from there – if you bear with me as I’ll need to push this onto tomorrow’s to-do list I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Thanks for your patience!
Barry
MemberAh ok, can you quickly reactivate it again?
Barry
MemberSo for instance on this page:
http://crossroadsinfontainebleau.org/events/
Should I expect “Calendar of Events” (title just above the calendar) to be all caps and using the Bebas fontface? If so I’d need a better understanding of why it should be Bebas as nothing in your theme’s stylesheet refers to that font … is this something you need to configure through a theme options page that might have become “unstuck” for some reason?
I did look at your site before my last post and at least on my browser I’m struggling to see the differences. You had mentioned the tabs being out of whack – can you elaborate on that a little more?
I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of this 🙂
Barry
MemberVivian, what version of The Events Calendar did you update from – and are you able to temporarily reactivate our plugins so I can see the impact for myself?
Barry
MemberJust double-checking this – but you did update both the free, core plugin and Events Calendar PRO (so they are both at v2.0.10)?
Barry
MemberOK, think we posted at almost the same time there. Let me check in with some other team members and see if they have any ideas based on what you just told me.
