MemberMy home page tabs and fonts are all out of order. I went through and pinpointed it to the Events Calendar plugin. I am a pro user. We love and live by our calendar. I have both pro/free disabled since it is really doing a number on our website. Can you help??

MemberThat’s unfortunate – but it is hard to know exactly what the problem is without seeing it. In what way are the tabs and fonts out of order?
I see you tested this out with other plugins disabled and by switching to another theme – was the same problem evident with just The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO and the Twenty Eleven theme running?
One other question – you annotated that you are using The Events Calendar 2.0.10 and Events Calendar 2.0.4. They should both be at version 2.0.10 – can you confirm that you have updated both to correct this (or let me know if that was a mistake)?
Thanks!

MemberHi Barry,
Sorry for sounding all out of order and making very little sense, I was in panic mode, still am.
First off, I went ahead and manually updated the PRO version by downloading it from the website, not sure why I did not receive the update in the dashboard area for the PRO. So, now everything is running on the 2.0.10 version.
I have not changed the theme. I am not that advanced and this is the most advanced web site I have built. I have been running the events calendar/pro for quite some time since we became live spring 2012. Never had an issue even when I have modified the theme currently used content and such. The theme or the site has not gone through any changes for the last month, except update on pages of new information. This past weekend I checked the site as I do daily and noticed this–
the BEBAS font that comes built into my current theme is gone.
on the home page my three tabs that each is one page showing under is now all three of the pages under each tab.I really need the calendar it is the only source for all events happening within the non profit organization. If I need to send you my log in to wordpress possibly so you can see if I am doing anything incorrectly, I would much appreciate it.
here is my web site, http://crossroadsinfontainebleau.org

MemberVivian, what version of The Events Calendar did you update from – and are you able to temporarily reactivate our plugins so I can see the impact for myself?

MemberHi Barry,
WOW, great response time. I updated the pro from 2.0.4 to the 2.0.10, I think it was the last update I did to the regular plug in not the pro version. I have just reactivated the plug in. You will notice that on the pages the title the font has changed before it was all caps in the BEBAS font.
Eagerly awaiting your response.

MemberSo for instance on this page:
http://crossroadsinfontainebleau.org/events/
Should I expect “Calendar of Events” (title just above the calendar) to be all caps and using the Bebas fontface? If so I’d need a better understanding of why it should be Bebas as nothing in your theme’s stylesheet refers to that font … is this something you need to configure through a theme options page that might have become “unstuck” for some reason?
I did look at your site before my last post and at least on my browser I’m struggling to see the differences. You had mentioned the tabs being out of whack – can you elaborate on that a little more?
I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of this 🙂

MemberBarry, yes that page the title would be bebas which by default is all caps. Looking over all the theme, Light of Peace, it is built into the theme, it is not configured by me on my dashboard. If that were the case it would remain in the bebas font if the plugin was deactivated or not.
The tabs on the home page, each tab is showing the content of all three tabs so one SUPER long page under the tab including this month, future events, and website help. Normally each tab reflects each page not all three pages under each tab.
I have just deactivated the plug ins again and have a look.

MemberAh ok, can you quickly reactivate it again?
November 12, 2012 at 11:47 am #27916Barry
MemberIn fact, no need – I’ve got a feeling I know what the problem might be. I’m going to try and replicate this locally and troubleshoot from there – if you bear with me as I’ll need to push this onto tomorrow’s to-do list I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Thanks for your patience!

MemberBarry, really, oh I hope you have the solution. I am in Paris so I have to turn in now, but hope we can get this sorted pretty soon, because your tomorrow will be my day after tomorrow. I reactivated it even though the titles and everything look so blah to me, but people need access to calendar for the time being.
Thanks for your help and hopefully a solution.November 12, 2012 at 12:12 pm #27922Vivian
MemberIt also removed my slide show pictures now when activated–

MemberHi Vivian, so I have an answer for you though it may not be to your liking.
I’ve actually had a few support cases with the same problem recently, so I created this thread which attempts to provide some background information.
In essence, your theme (I presume it is your theme, to be sure you would need to try switching to a default one such as Twenty Eleven – it could alternatively be another plugin) is replacing WordPress’s standard copy of jQuery with one loaded from an external source, in this case from Google.
This is very likely the source of the problem and you should consult with the author or vendor of the theme to see if A) this can be turned off and B) if turning it off will affect the theme in any way.

MemberHi Barry, Thank you for your response even though I am crushed to hear, after going strong and really building a nice database with Events Calendar PRO. We have used it since May 2012 and have been super happy plus it worked well till that last update. Maybe I should not update plug ins? I switched the theme and everything worked fine it was this particular theme that had been working with the Events Calendar just fine till now.
I contacted the theme creator and he said, this can not be turned off with out compromising the theme.
I have deleted the plug in and will try to find something that will work for us. I am paid through March 2013.
Either way your customer service has been top of the line!!
Thanks

MemberThat’s a real shame and we’re sorry to hear that you can’t use The Events Calendar (or PRO) as a consequence of this.
All I can add is to be mindful of this issue going forward, as it is far from impossible that your theme’s design (in particular, its use of a much older copy of jQuery than ships with WordPress) may also compromise the functionality of other plugins.
Sorry we can’t do more to help here.
