Hello. I recently upgraded to PRO. I had the Free version up and running on my test site for a couple weeks now. When I upgraded to pro I got an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error…
If I go in through FTP on my site, I can manually delete the plugin and my page comes back and I can login to my admin page again. I can have the PRO plugin active as long as the Free plugin is not active and vice versa, but if they are both active, my page will crash. From my understanding the PRO upgrade is only a plugin and you still need to have the other plugin active? I am running WordPress 3.4.2 and 2.0.10 for both plugins

I did switch back to the Twenty-Eleven theme and had the same issue

Hi Tony, I see you also noted down (when you opened the thread) that you tried disabling other plugins. Am I correct in thinking that you still experienced the 500 error even when only The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO were active?

Can you confirm what version of PHP you are using and if you have access to the server error log (you may need to check in with your web host if you are unsure)? Thanks!

If you could also let me know your PHP memory_limit setting (you can figure this out yourself using a function such as phpinfo() or simply ask your web host).

You are correct, I only get the 500 error when BOTH plugins are active. I can have one active by itself with no error.i am using PHP5 and my PHP memory limit is supposed to be set to 32mb. I have posted my log before, I am not sure if this will help though.

OK – and when you say it is supposed to be 32M is that what your host has told you? If so, you may wish to try increasing this to 64M. Once again, please clarify the process for doing this with your host. Some methods you will find on various websites will not work, depending on how your hosting environment is configured, but neither will they give you any indication of not working.

Thanks also for taking the time to post that log. I think that is your access log, whereas I was interested in your error log – access to the error log isn’t always readily available but here again is something to ask your host.

    Thanks!

Thank you for your help, it was related ot the memory limit. My host kept telling me it was set to 64mb, they were wrong and unfortunatley they do not let users change it. If anyone else has this issue, there is a little free plugin called WP-Memory-Usage. It told me I was at 32 and my site was using 96%.
Everything is now working. Thank you for helping!

Excellent, glad you got this sorted – and thanks for feeding back with the tip about WP-Memory-Usage 🙂
