KeymasterMarc,
We are going to take a look at the DB dump, but this will take longer than our normal support turn-around.
Thanks again for your patience, and we’ll let you know as soon as we know anything.
Thanks,
SkySky
KeymasterMic,
Great! Glad you figured it out!
Please let us know if you have any other questions or issues in the future.
Thanks,
SkySky
KeymasterAlso,
Something I didn’t realize before: the urls in your import file are pointing at existing files in your media library? So, you are not wanting to import the files, just to point at the correct featured image?
Is it generating new copies of the files that look greyed out? Or is it replacing the existing files with the greyed out versions?
Thanks,
SkySky
KeymasterHi again,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re frustrated with the support process. I’ll do my best to help you get this resolved.
I will ask around if anyone else has seen issues with the images coming in blank. For me, all the images from that specific domain come in blank, and all the images from the other domains import correctly. I can reproduce this each time.
If you have already bulk uploaded the images, I was wondering if you could not just do a “search and replace” on the spreadsheet to replace the old URL with the new. The image names are all the same, correct? Though I’m not sure how it handles internal images vs external. Anyway, just an idea.
As to the Venue problem: I can’t help troubleshoot unless you provide me with the requested files. I still am not sure what your exact issue is, and I was hoping this would be more clear if I tried the import myself.
So, if you can provide the files, I’d be happy to take a look.
Thanks,
SkySky
KeymasterHi again,
It is against our Terms of Service to go in and modify live customer sites. We sometimes make an exception for staging sites when it helps to see the results of changes in the same hosting environment.
If you would like to make the changes and let me know, I could then take a look to see the issue happening. However, we do not work on support during the weekend, so it may be better to plan a time on a weekday so your site is not left up looking wonky.
You could also ask your host to bump up your php memory limit and install the staging plugin.
In any case, what I’d expect to see when we switch to the default theme with other plugins disabled is that the ajax error would be gone, and the calendar would load properly. If this is not the result, then I would look at the site configuration to make sure the URL is set up consistently, as this can sometimes cause ajax to not be loaded.
Let me know how you’d like to proceed. I’ll be back on Monday morning.
Thanks,
SkySky
KeymasterGreat!

KeymasterHi Craig,
I am seeing this behavior in my own test install as well.
I have just created a bug ticket for this. Unfortunately, I can’t provide a timeline for the fix. But someone will follow up with you here once it has been released to make sure the issue has been resolved.
Let us know if you have any other questions in the meantime.
Thanks,
SkySky
KeymasterHi Mic,
Thanks for reaching out to us. I will try to help you sort this out.
There seems to be a bit of customization done on the template. If you temporarily switch to the Twenty Seventeen theme and disable non Events Calendar plugins, do you still see the same order?
Thanks,
SkySky
KeymasterHello,
I tried the import again with some different image urls substituted, and the images imported as expected. I then re imported the file, this time selecting the “featured image web location” column for the featured images, and they all imported. It seems that there may be some kind of asset protection enabled on the server your images are hosted on? Maybe try bulk adding the images to the media library, and then replace the urls with the new location before doing the import?
I re-imported this a few times, and it is not creating duplicate images.
I’m not sure I understand what’s going on with the venues. Can you provide me with the files you are importing? Are you saying you have venues in multiple files, and that they are being duplicated? Are you importing the venues as “venues” separately from the events?
Also, note this tip from the knowledgebase: “If you are planning to import venue and organizer information with your events, then you will need to import the CSV file for those venues and organizers before importing events.”
Can you tell me what order you are importing the different post types in?
Thanks,
SkySky
KeymasterGreat! Glad you got some help.

KeymasterHi there,
I’m sorry to hear that you were not able to get this working. If you’d like to continue troubleshooting this, please let us know.
My guess is that you may not have the photo view enabled in the Events > Settings > Display > Enable event views. Make sure the checkbox for “Photo” is checked.
Thanks,
SkySky
KeymasterMarc,
I see. I downloaded a DB dump from the test site, and I’m going to recreate the site locally so I can look at things more in depth, and get some other eyes on it if necessary.
Thank you for your patience. I’ll let you know by tomorrow wether I have figured anything out.

KeymasterThank you for providing that.
When I import these events, it creates “blank” image files for every event. I also checked the urls, and they seem to be working fine.
I am going to play around with this some more, and if I can’t figure anything out, I will create a bug ticket.
I will let you know by tomorrow what I find.
Thanks for your patience,
SkySky
KeymasterFelix,
Awesome! Glad that helped!
Let us know if you have any questions or issues in the future.
