MemberAh gotcha! Thanks for confirming as much, Eric. Sounds like you’re all set here. Joyce is out for the next week or so but if you have any other issues please post them on the forum here and either Jonah or myself will get you what you need.
Rob
MemberHey there Eric. Have you followed our category coloring tutorial here (https://theeventscalendar.com/coloring-your-category-events/), or was this reached a different way? I can get our dev to take a look as needed but just want to get that bit of information confirmed before we go any further here. Thanks in advance!
Rob
MemberHey Joe. Thanks for the note on this one. While it sounds like the Contextual Related Posts issue might not be something we can easily help resolve (as it’d require jumping into the core files of one if not both of these plugins), you should be able to resolve #2. The easiest method to test would be going to Events –> Settings and changing to a different template under the Templates tab. Have you already given that a go?
Rob
MemberHey Jason. Thanks for the note here, and sorry to hear you’re having problems. I just tested this out and was unable to recreate your issue…but it’s possible I’m not following the same steps as you.
Here’s what I did:
1) Added a new event.
2) Uploaded an image to the description section.
3) Re-entered that image via the ‘edit’ icon that appeared in its upper-left hand corner.
4) Removed the link to the file that was there by default and changed it to something generic like http://www.cnn.com.
5) Hit update and the pop-up closed.
6) When I opened the pop-up again, my reference to CNN.com was indeed still in place.Did you reach this through a different set of instructions? If so, please let me know and I’ll try to recreate / troubleshoot accordingly with you from there. Thanks!
Rob
MemberHey Joe! Thanks for reaching out here. Looks like your message got published before it was finished, but I think I understand your issue OK here. Have you tried popping open events.css, within the plugin folder? If I’m understanding the issue correctly here you should be able to control this there.
If you are going to modify that file, make sure you’ve copied it over to a new ‘events’ folder in your theme directory and are making the changes there. That way this won’t be overwritten next time there is a plugin update.
Hope that helps. Let me know if not and I’ll do what I can to get you what you need. Cheers!

MemberGotcha. Thanks for confirming as much; looking through our bug tracker, I see that this is still slated for 2.1 (which we’re working on now and should have out over the next few months). So an official fix in whatever capacity that is possible should be arriving then.
Let me see if Jonah has any ideas specific to your situation that can help in the interim. Thanks for your patience so far on this.
Rob
MemberHey Ross. Thanks for the note here; can you provide a link? Also, does this occur after you resave (flush) your permalinks? Let me know and we’ll do what we can to troubleshoot from there. Thanks!
Rob
MemberThanks, David. Jonah will be hitting the forum again today and I’ve asked him to take a look here again directly. Stay tuned!
Rob
MemberHey David. Not sure about this myself, but let me get Jonah to take a look when he hits the forums today. Stay tuned.

MemberHey there Caroline. Thanks for the note here, and sorry to hear you’re having an inconvenience. I am seeing this too with the new code – it unfortunately appears to be a bug that we introduced in 2.0.8. Thanks for the heads up here; I have passed this back to the dev so we can make sure to get it patched for 2.0.9, which at this point is just a couple weeks away.
Thanks for the heads up and for your patience so far. Please let us know if you need anything else.
Rob
MemberThanks for confirming as much, Kelli. If you do end up wanting us to take a look here…just holler. Cheers and thanks for your support so far.
Rob
MemberHey David, are you saying that this still happens after you update to 2.0.8?
Rob
MemberFantastic to hear. If you need anything else, let us know…or even if you don’t (so we can close out the thread). Cheers!
Rob
MemberThis is definitely a solid idea, Matt. While we don’t have anything specific in the works that will accomplish this – I could see value in finding a way to make it happen, either by tying into the existing Facebook Events add-on or working something into the core Events code.
WooTickets is still in early stages and we haven’t actually begun the dev end, but if it doesn’t make it into the initial release I’ll push to get it added into a subsequent one. (Though as that plugin still exists somewhat at a conceptual level, I’m not entirely sure what the launch feature set will be to begin with). Meanwhile, have you checked whether there are any third-party plugins out there that can accomplish this? If it were just something that picked up custom post types, it should be able to find our events…as they are indeed just custom post types.
Hope this helps and thanks again for the idea. If you have any others or if we can do anything else please let me know.

MemberHey Calvin. Thanks for the note. Have you updated to 2.0.8 yet? We sped up the AJAX loading rather substantially in that codebase so if you update you’ll find the speed improvement with that.
We are working towards additional, more subtle improvements in 2.1 (which will be out this summer). But 2.0.8 should contain the first one that will show significant improvement. Let me know if you’re still seeing slowness on your end even after updating – in which case, a link to your site would be fantastic. Thanks!
