November 1, 2011 at 5:02 pm in reply to: Event Categories -> how they can replace -> Post categories? #10450
Rob
MemberHi Fabrice. To answer your first question: you should be able to do this by just using multiple versions of the Advanced List Widget, filtering each to display a specific category. If you’re feeding in via RSS or some other method, you should just be able to target the specific category.
That help, or were you looking for something more?
November 1, 2011 at 5:00 pm in reply to: How to change the Page title for the Events Calendar? #10448Rob
MemberHey Joerg, thanks for the note. You could always modify the language file for your particular install, if you wished to, so that the event calendar title always displayed as “Termine” or whatever you wanted. If the issue is just the slug for the URL, that can be changed under Settings –> The Events Calendar.
Does that help? Let me know if not or if I misinterpreted the request here.

MemberThanks for the suggestions, Tineke. I’m a non-php expert myself so I could certainly put together that first bit of documentation. What you’ve noted here is great though – I think this will probably be split between FAQs, documentation and help videos…but I’ll spend some time the next few days putting these together and will publish them as I do. Won’t be immediate or all at once but these give me a good starting point and I’d love to hear what else you think would be valuable.

MemberHey Bruce. You should be able to do that by going to Settings –> General and modifying your time display settings. Should be able to add time zone by just adding “T” at the end of the current setup.

MemberBrian, are you still having issues? Or was that code just a suggestion for Sarah? Wanted to confirm.
Sarah: I am seeing the issue, thanks for sending that over. Is it possible that this is a conflict with your theme or theme settings? I’d advise a couple things here: first, try changing the theme settings available under the TEC settings; I don’t know how much effect that’ll have but worth a shot. The other would be to revert back to the 2011 theme, just to check if the issue persists – its very possible that this is a conflict with your theme directly. I didn’t feel comfortable making that change on your site myself.
I’ve also passed this on to our dev, so he can take a look – but he’s out the rest of the week so the earliest I’ll hear from him is this weekend. Ideally we can address this ourselves between now and then.

November 1, 2011 at 4:52 pm in reply to: can the calendar widget be set up to only show one category? #10441Rob
MemberHey Adam. At this point only the list widget can be drilled down on a category-specific basis right out of the box; what you’ve suggested here is a good idea though, so I’ll add it to the list of discussion items for when we build out future releases. Thanks!

MemberHey Adam. I can try to help you out with this; are you using the 2.0.1 code base, or just 2.0? If the latter I would suggest updating. If it still persists at that point, can you send me a link to the site so I can take a look?
November 1, 2011 at 4:41 pm in reply to: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string #10435Rob
MemberHey Anthony. I spoke to the dev on this and we’re a bit stumped at it; we’ve confirmed that it is a bug in the system that saves an error into a custom field and we’re working to get to the bottom of it for a future release. But it should normally just be a warning, not a fatal error – do you have another plugin that could be causing that, or a debugging solution of some kind turned on?
Rob
MemberGlad to see you guys got this taken care of. Will be useful for others coming to do a search here for related issues down the road.

MemberHey guys. Thanks for reaching out and apologies to hear you’re having problems here. Two points on this:
1. I see that in that screencast, you’re not using the latest version of WordPress. What version is that you’re on there? Would always suggest updating to the latest if at all possible.
2. Might you have wp_debug set to “true” in your config file? The only instances I’ve seen like this are when people have that turned on.Let me know about those two points and I’ll see what I can do to help get this cleared up for you.
