November 10, 2011 at 9:16 am in reply to: integrating events calendar into featured content slider and newsletters? #10893
Rob
MemberThanks Adam. I’ll test on WP Featured Content Slider right off the bat; no guarantees we’ll be able to smoothly integrate, but I’ve downloaded this and have installed it on my test site to use.
As for the other – since it’s a paid plugin that may be a bit more difficult, unless you were willing to either work it through on your end or provide us a copy of the plugin (with the understanding that it’d never be used anywhere other than a local/non-live test environment).
Rob
MemberHey Julien. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the issue, but here’s what happens when I try to view single day view on your site: http://screencast.com/t/iVIIFJOwMQa. Notice that none of the single day view options are even clickable.
What am I doing differently from you? How did you hit the 404 page, when no link exists to take you there? Lastly, would you mind reverting to the 2011 theme – with no other plugins active – and letting me know so I could test then? As it stands I’m still unable to recreate your issue.
Roberto: regardless of your permalinks structure, single day view links should look like this: (yoursiteURL.com)/events/2011-11-11/.Clicking that would take you into the events for 11-11-11. Not sure how you’re generating that URL you noted there, since the permalink structure for individual events shouldn’t impact the single day view.

MemberHey Julien. At this point, no – upgrading is unfortunately going to overwrite anything that wasn’t done using the standard template override procedure. However: if you were willing to submit an updated translation file for free/PRO/both to me, I could make sure that was included in the next release so that these translations were the official ones going forward. That way they’d never be overwritten since the files would be in the core code.

MemberHey Scott. I can get Jonah to respond to your first point (re: thumbnails) today. As for sharing this on the WP.org support post…that’d be awesome. Anything that helps make things easier for the OS community is OK by us. Thanks for asking though.
Rob
MemberHey Anthony – just a heads up that I haven’t forgotten about this one. We’ve been a bit shorthanded on the dev/support side until this week, but I’ve got a developer looking at it now and should have you a response by the end of the week. Apologies for the delay so far.
Rob
MemberThanks Albert. What about the other points noted above?
Please also deactivate your other plugins one-by-one, so we can see if this is a conflict with one of them; and if not, what happens when you switch back to the default 2011 theme? Thanks!
Rob
MemberHi Sara. Thanks for posting that; what slug have you configured for the broader events page? Did you manually set it to ?post_type=tribe_events, versus just /events?

MemberMy pleasure 🙂 Sorry to hear about the inconvenience in the first place, hopefully we can get this worked out quickly.
Rob
MemberHi Irene. Our developer Jonah posted a response to your previous thread earlier; did you not see that?

MemberThanks for confirming, Matt. Have you checked out our existing template tag documentation (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/) to see if that may help you? Let me know if not and I can get the developer to take a look.
Rob
MemberThanks Bill. I was just able to recreate this myself, too…looks like it’s a bug. I’ve got our dev looking into the other issue (of being unable to delete from within the entry) and just updated our ticket to bump up the priority & make sure this is included in the 2.0.2 release we’re working on now and aim to have out over the next week or two. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.
Rob
MemberHi Cary, thanks for reaching out. Have you tried the different theme settings available under Settings –> The Events Calendar? Switching, say, from default events template to default page template or vice versa? Your theme may also offer a couple template settings you could try.
If none of those work, let me know and i can see what else I can dig up.
Rob
MemberHi again Sara. What’s the URL path for your events? Are they still set to /events? You should if that’s the case be seeing grid at that URL. My guess is maybe you have a link somewhere going to /events/upcoming, which is the URL for the list regardless of what’s set to default.
Let me know if that’s the cause. Otherwise I can keep looking into it for you.

MemberHi Sara. Sorry to hear you’re having issues. The first thing I’d do is go in and save your permalinks (under Settings –> Permalinks). No need to make any changes; just re-save them and then try again on the frontend. Remember to clear your cache before re-trying the frontend just in case that’s an issue.
If that doesn’t do the trick, can you send me a link to the site and confirm what version of WP/the plugin you’re running, along with any other plugins you may have active? Thanks in advance!
Rob
MemberHey Albert. Thanks for the note; sorry to hear you’re having problems. Do you by chance already have a previous version of The Events Calendar or Events Calendar PRO running on your system? I also see that you’re on ECP 2.0 – would suggest updating to 2.0.1 if you haven’t already, since it’s the most recent stable build.
Let me know about the points above. If neither of those work, please also see what happens if you deactivate WPML (ie whether the issue goes away). Thanks!
