MemberHi websource,
Thanks for getting in touch. The .pot files for The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO had a lot of changes in version 3.5, which is why some of the strings are now showing in English. Lucky for you, one of our other German users just updated the files so that those strings are translated. You can download the new German files from here. Drop the two for The Events Calendar into that /lang file (replacing the old ones) and do the same for the Events Calendar PRO files. That should get those strings translated properly.
Let me know if you need any help.

MemberHi Goran,
The best way to change the text of those links would be to use a a string-specific translation plugin like Say What?. That’s safer and easier than messing with the plugin files themselves.

MemberHi kiho,
Thank you so much for volunteering to help translate our plugins. Please remember that if you want to translate on of our ticketing plugins, you also need to translate The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. We need those two before we can start adding other plugin translations.

MemberHi theedge,
Thank you so much for translating these! The files look great and work well. I will add them to our plugins for the release. Would you like me to email you with coupons for free licenses for those plugins? I see that you already have the ones you translated- is there another one of ours you’d like to try?
On my test site, all the untranslated strings you mentioned are working properly (ex. https://cloudup.com/c66XZr6iWZO). Is it possible that the customizations you’ve done to the plugin templates changed some of the translation strings? Each string should look something like
__('Hey there', 'the-events-calendar')You might double check and make sure that the strings that are still not translating weren’t changed. Even one character out of place can break the translation.

MemberHi Goran,
Thanks for getting in touch. The problem is that the Norwegian translations are broken and incomplete, and need to be redone. Is that something you’d be willing to help us with? We have both a Norwegian Bokmål and Norwegian Nynorsk translation, and they both need work. Updating the translations will fix the Previous/Next Events links, as well as other bits of English.
If you’re interested, check out the Getting Started post where you’ll find the instructions and files you need. Let me know if you have any questions!

MemberHi Omer,
Thanks for getting in touch. We are not able to adjust to text to go right to left for different language files, so I’m afraid you’ll need to just do the best you can within the LTR text.
If you are going to translate WooCommerce Tickets, please also translate The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. You need The Events Calendar to use WooCommerce Tickets, so it’s important to do that one too. And we ask that you do Events Calendar PRO at the same time. Thanks for understanding, and for your help with the translations!

MemberHi Carolyn,
That sounds like a very cool idea! You are correct that you would need Community Events if you wanted to have users submit events for your calendar. At this time, there is not a built-in way to charge people for events submission. I’d love have you add your votes to our UserVoice thread for that feature- that helps get it on our radar for future builds.
Although this feature is not built-in, you may be able to do it with some customizing. If you’d like to explore that option, I’d be happy to recommend some developers.

MemberHi Ben,
Thanks for your interest in our plugins!
The Additional Fields can be used to display different information for the events themselves. This wouldn’t directly affect the pricing of any associated tickets, but you could choose to set tickets for that event at higher prices. Users are not able to pick from Additional Fields or other drop-downs when purchasing a ticket. You might be able to customize our plugin to do that, but that would be beyond our scope to support. Does that answer your questions?

MemberHi miranda18,
You can move licenses from site to site, but they first have to be disconnected on your License Keys page. We have a tutorial here that walks you through the process. If you have any trouble, please let me know and I’d be happy to help out.

MemberHi henriettahudson,
I’m sorry you’re disappointed. We do our best to clearly list out the features of our products on the product pages, and can answer questions in our special Pre-Sales Forum.
As you’ve found, there is no built in way to add social sharing buttons on events. If you’d like, you can add your votes to the UserVoice thread. That will encourage us to consider this for a future feature. For now, however, you’d need to use a third-party plugin or customize our plugin. I’d be happy to recommend some developers who could work with you if you’d like.
You also might check out this thread, which includes some ideas for working with a third-party plugin. This thread mentions a plugin called AddThis which worked for a user. I also know of a social media plugin that was made particularly to work with our venues, called Social Venues for Events Calendar PRO. Hopefully one of those options will work for you 🙂

MemberHi ceezdesigns,
Thanks for posting. Can you confirm for me that you are running the latest version of The Events Calendar and WooCommerce Tickets (3.5 for each)? If not, please update both plugins and check again for the License Key tab under Events –> Settings.
Also, are you using a multi-site install? On multi-sites, the License Keys tab is only available on the main network site. If you are running a sub-site, you won’t see that tab.

MemberHi kingconga,
Thanks for your post. You can essentially use the same single license for both your dev site and your live site. We’ve got a mini tutorial here with instructions. If you need any help, don’t hesitate to post here.

MemberHi cuillincollective,
Thanks for your note. At this time, our ticketing plugin is not able to do this kind of global stock. We understand that this is a problem for some users, and are working on adding it as a feature. I’d love to have you add your votes to the UserVoice thread for this. We’ll update there as we work more towards implementing this feature.
We have a tutorial here for moving your license to the live site. If you have any trouble, just let me know and I’d be happy to help out.

April 1, 2014 at 1:33 pm in reply to: Detect location and display relevant events automatically #126384Leah
MemberHi jasonrosenbaum,
That sounds like a very cool project! Events Calendar PRO does not have a built-in way to detect location. It may be possible, but it would definitely require some complex customization and would be out of our scope to assist you with. If you’d like, we’d be happy to recommend some developers who could work with you. Best of luck!
Cheers,
Leah
