    Hey Ann,

Greenland or Phoenix? Seriously? I’m mean it’s February in the Northern Hemisphere. I know which one I’d pick. 😉

OK, completely wiping out all the detritus from the Facebook Importer is likely to get dicey and deep. So let’s try a different approach. Set your Facebook keys to a string of zeros (e.g., 000000000000000) and save that. Then deactivate/delete/reinstall the plugin. You may want to also delete the events that are troublesome too at this point. Then verify that the time zone is set correctly and reinstall the plugins and set the auto import again. And we’ll see what happens.

And you know, after staring at this thread for far too long, I’m now wondering if there isn’t a bigger issue with the auto importing going on. I’m going to verify an auto import on my end and see what happens here too.

One more question. If you manually enter an event, and not import it from Facebook, is the time as expected? Dumb question perhaps, but trying to cover all the bases.

    Hey fred,

Thanks so much for those links. When I look at your site it appears to be working as expected at the moment. However, as expected means that it brings in only a square crop and not the full image as seen on the Facebook page. I get the same result on my test site.

I’m sorry if we didn’t communicate this behavior clearly enough. Do you have a suggestion on how we can improve our text or documentation to remove the confusion?

Part of the equation here is that we request a certain size from Facebook, but what gets returned hasn’t always been consistent. We may have to look for a different approach to importing Facebook images, but that will be a longer-term programming fix.

    Does that make sense?

    Hey russkeys,

This sounds more like a general plugin issue than one specific to the Facebook Importer. I’m going to move it over to our PRO forum and assign it to someone who has been looking into these types of issues lately. He’ll get in touch with you shortly.

Hey sosayweall (gosh I love that username),

Yeah, I think it’s time for a look about. If you could provide the login information in a private message here in the forums, and give me permission to take a look, I’ll see if I can spot what’s going on.

    Can you do that?

    Hi Simon,

While I’m not 100% certain of what you’ve done with the code, your approach sounds solid. If it’s cropped on upload and defined as “medium” it should work for the event listing going forward. Of course, I’d encourage you to test it thoroughly. Maybe recruit one of your organizers to give it a go perhaps and can see if everything is as it should be.

    Hi maineirishheritagecenter,

I think what you are looking for is our Community Events add-on. You can check it out here https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-community-events/ and walk through the New User Primer for a good look at how it works https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/community-events-new-user-primer/.

Does that do what you were looking for?

    Hi wanganuiedc,

Before we dig too deeply here, have you heard of the plugin Regenerate Thumbnails? http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ If you’re trying to change the size of the thumbnail images, installing and running that plugin can preempt a lot of fancy footwork elsewhere.

Could you take a look at that and give it a try? And let me know if it helped your situation.

    Hi ohsoang,

Displaying times in the month view is going to take some custom coding to accomplish, but it should be possible. While I can’t help you with customizations, I can point you to our Themer’s Guide (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/) and Documentation (http://docs.tri.be/) that have some information that might help you out. If I can help point you in the right direction, including finding a developer if you want to go that route, please let me know.

    Hi jutout,

As you can imagine, adding responsive design to the plugins is no small task. But the good news is that it is one that is in active development. While I don’t have an exact date for you, know that we’re working hard to get this to you just as soon as possible. Hang in there!

    Hi again sethdcutter,

You are venturing into the area of custom coding and I can’t really help you with that beyond providing the resources already mentioned. Unless you have your own expertise to call upon, you may want to look at getting some help from a developer to come up with a bespoke solution for you. I hope you can understand why we aren’t able to provide that level of service in these forums.

If you need some help in locating a developer I may be able to point you in a couple of directions, if you’d like.

    Hi Helen,

I am sorry, but I cannot provide support for the free plugin here in the Pre-Sales forum. I hope you can understand our reasons for this. If you’d like to ask your questions in the support forum over on the The Events Calendar plugin page (http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar) you should be able to get some assistance over there.

    Hi Helen,

The quick answer is no, you won’t have to re-enter events. PRO just adds extra functionality to The Events Calendar plugin. You actually need to have both activated, so The Events Calendar isn’t going away. So upgrade away! 🙂

    Hi tlauen,

Great question! It’s on our list of things to do to create a chart that compares them all, so I do apologize that it isn’t available yet. And thanks for the push to get that put together!

In your case, I would look to see which of our e-commerce partners has a payment gateway that would work for you. I’m not sure which ones are available in your country. Beyond that, the best advice I can give at the moment is choose Eventbrite if you already have an account with them. Choose WooCommerce Tickets if you think you’ll ever sell physical products in addition to tickets. EDD works great if all you’re selling is tickets and other digital products. And honestly, the Shopp and WPEC tickets are our newest ones, so I don’t have much experience with them at the present time.

    Does that help?
