ParticipantAll is working well except events are currently importing with start / end times 8 hours earlier than originally listed on FB. My timezone in general settings is clocked at Los Angeles.
FB event example: https://www.facebook.com/events/722316697786575/
And after imported: http://www.sosayweallonline.com/event/may-vamp-showcase-do-it-yourself-diy/
I’ve seen similar threads but none with conclusions. Appreciate any help!

ParticipantHi sosayweall,
That is weird. Have you tried using a UTC based timezone? So LA is what, UTC -8? Can you try that and see if it helps?

ParticipantHi Julie, adjusted the general settings timezone from Los Angeles to -8UTC, deleted and reimported the event from Facebook. Still lists the start time as 11:30am – 1:30pm when the FB time is 7:00pm – 9:30pm. Appreciate you looking into it!

ParticipantHey again. This is puzzling to me. Especially the half hour shift. I’m still looking into it and wanted to let you know I haven’t forgotten about you.

ParticipantThat can’t hurt. Could you provide me that information in a private message?

ParticipantHi sosayweall,
Okay, I tested it again and It seems to be working for me. Can I ask where you are importing from? I mean, there are actually two places that you can import Facebook events from using the plugin.
- The first is under Events > Import: Facebook, where usually it’s a one-time, per-event import and you would enter an event ID such as 722316697786575.
- The other is under Events > Settings > Facebook, where you would enter the name of the group such as SoSayWeAllOnline.
Which of those have you been using?
But before we dig deeper, let’s go back and verify that you’ve disabled all the other plugins and reverted back to the Twenty Twelve theme and are using a non-UTC time zone. No difference?
Does that make sense? Let me know what happens.

ParticipantHi Julie,
Reverted to 2012 theme, with all plugins disabled except for Tribe’s FB importer, Event Calendar, and Event Calendar Pro, both through the page event importer and the manual event ID methods, regardless of settings clocked at a UTC timezone or Los Angeles, the events appear on the website 8 hours earlier than they’re posted on FB.
(I’m reinstalling the 2014-theme and necessary plugins to keep the site running, now that we’ve established it isn’t any of those factors.)
Could we take this conversation over to e-mail? I need somewhere to send a login for you to see the back-end settings.
Best,

ParticipantHey sosayweall (gosh I love that username),
Yeah, I think it’s time for a look about. If you could provide the login information in a private message here in the forums, and give me permission to take a look, I’ll see if I can spot what’s going on.
Can you do that?

ParticipantHi sosayweall,
As we don’t use email for support, I don’t have an address for you. You can just pick any old email, how about [email protected]? Then just leave the credentials here in the forum as a private message where I can pick them up.
