ParticipantHey bgccc,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I apologize for the issues that you’re experiencing when using the plugin. It looks like the issue here is that the placeholder text is getting set as the value and then being submitted.
Unfortunately, without being able to follow the Testing for Conflicts procedures there isn’t a whole lot we can do in regards to support.
The most likely culprit in this case would be the theme. There is probably a section of javascript that is taking the placeholder text and setting it as the default value for the field.
I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you a direct answer but hopefully this will help to get you pointed in the right direction.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Ameet,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
It definitely sounds like there is a conflict at play here. Looking at your site, the controls definitely aren’t functioning (the datepicker, and autofill location) as intended. Additionally when submitting with a location value, the necessary geo data isn’t being passed to the URL to get the appropriate filtering of events.
Looking at the developer tools on your site, it appears that there is a conflict with your theme on a stylesheet however this shouldn’t be what’s causing these issues. However, this does lead me to believe that there are other customizations within the theme that could be the culprit here.
To start, have you followed the Testing for Conflicts procedures to see if this is an issue with the current theme or an existing plugin?
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Sam,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I took a look at the link you provided, however the event link appears to only show the home page of the site? At the core, it sounds like there may be some conflict with the existing events features of the theme. You can test this by switching to a default theme and seeing if the pages display as expected.
For further information, try turning on debug mode https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG within your WordPress install. This will give you more information about what may be conflicting on your site and help to get us pointed in the right direction.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I apologize for the issues you’ve been experiencing trying to get setup with the new Eventbrite API.
It sounds like the core issue here is a conflict with the Keyring plugin so lets try to activate this way:
- Completely deactivate the Keyring plugin on your site
- Go to Eventbrite.com and create a new App for your site and key new keys generated
- Go back to your WordPress dashboard and update the keys within the Event Settings > Eventbrite
- Click “Save Settings” again before clicking “Get Authorization”
- Authorize the app on Eventbrite.com
Let me know if this allowed you to activate or if you received the same error.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Jerod,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Are you using any sort of ticketing plugin when setting up the prices? If not, the simplest approach would be to remove the cost value from the event and call out the price for the series within the event content. This will allow you to give the clarification needed on the pricing of these events.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Chad,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I apologize for the issues you’ve experienced in using our plugin. Hopefully we can help to get this sorted out for you quickly.
To start, I took a look at your site and I see the redirect that you’re describing when visiting the “/events” page. Out of curiosity, what happens when you change the slug for the events page under the Event Settings > General tab to something else like “calendar”?
I notice you mentioned switching to a default theme and disabling plugins. Did you happen to do these all at the same time to where you were starting with a stripped down version of WordPress? Also, at this point did you try clearing all of your cache and re-saving permalinks in this state?
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey,

By default, I don’t believe WooCommerce supports multiple currencies for their cart. Doing a bit of research I did find this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-multilingual/. Is that what you’re referring to?
If your concern is whether or not our tickets plugin is compatible with an existing plugin you’re using, the best thing to do is to purchase and try it out. If it doesn’t work we do have a 3o day refund policy and we would be happy to refund your purchase.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Caroline,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Our emails for the tickets are an extension of the WooCommerce email class. To test, do regular order emails get sent from the site? You can test this by creating a test product and testing a transaction with this product.
Let me know if this email goes through or doesn’t.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Lisa,
Thanks for reaching out to us! This being more of a customization request I’ll do my best to help get you pointed in the right direction, however I can’t make any guarantees.
I took a look at your site and saw the banner that you’re wanting to add to the default template. Looking around at other pages on the site, I don’t see the photo and page title displayed the way it is on the page you specified. Out of curiosity, how is that heading added to the subscribe page?
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Shah,
Thanks for following up. It sounds like you may have placed it in a bad place within the file.
When pasting the code, ensure that you place it immediately after an existing opening “<?php” at the top of the file or before an existing closing “?>”. The best place to paste would be at the very bottom of the file right before the closing “?>”.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Brian,
I apologize for the confusion in the last post. You don’t need to copy each of the other stylesheets over to your theme. The override here is that if you have the “tribe-events-pro.css” file within your theme at the proper location (tribe-events > pro > tribe-events-pro.css), this file will be loaded after the plugin styles and override the default styles. This way you don’t have to customize the core plugin files and lose those customizations when updating. We never suggest or expect users to edit the core plugin files for their customizations.
In the previous response, I was only suggesting copying the Pro styles into that file so it would mimic more of an automatic file that you could customize, similar to my understanding of what you were requesting as an alternative in your previous response. I apologize if I only added to the confusion with this suggestion.
We do however appreciate your overall feedback. We currently believe that our approach to customizations is the best of the alternatives available, however your comments have sparked an internal conversation and we’ll be reviewing this again just to make sure our team continues to feel the same way. If you have any further suggestions that you think would be useful on this front, such as examples of plugins that do something similar to what you were expecting as well as any changes that you would like to see in regards to how customizations are done. For example, maybe there could be some admin controls for changing things such as colors or fonts?
Additionally, I did want to point you in the direction of some available “skins” that are out in the marketplace for our plugin. The general rule in WordPress is that themes are for the styling of your site and plugins are for the functionality. This is one of the main factors that drives our decisions in regards to the way we handle our plugin styles. So, here are a few themes that have done some killer customizations that you could purchase and use as potential “skins” for your own site:
I did want to apologize again about the confusion and improper expectations about what our PRO plugin offers. If there is anything in our sales copy or marketing that led to your expectations of additional skins/themes for the plugin, we are eager to address these issues quickly so other users don’t have the same expectations when purchasing. And on this note, as you do share your experience with other users via a detailed review, we would appreciate it if you did include a link to this forum thread as part of the context of that review.
Finally, I would like to remind you that we do offer 30 days to request a refund. If the plugin overall isn’t what you were expecting and you feel you would like a refund, we are happy to refund your purchase.
Thanks!
June 10, 2015 at 8:14 am in reply to: Is there a way to list eventbrite tickets and prices as list items somewhere? #968457Josh
ParticipantHey Jessie,
Thanks for clarifying!
Unfortunately it doesn’t look like there is a straightforward way to pull this information into other parts of your theme. However, it can be accomplished with a bit of work. To start, I would recommend looking within the views > eventbrite > eventbrite-events-table.php file to see how the ticket information is built there for the display within the Eventbrite metabox within your WordPress dashboard for the event.
Additionally, if you would like, you could also take a look at the views > eventbrite > hooks > ticket-form.php to see how to get the embedded tickets iframe like you see at the bottom of the single event view and use it elsewhere on the site.
I apologize I wasn’t able to give you a direct response but hopefully this will help to get you pointed in the right direction for this customization.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey,
Thanks for providing the full code!
I tested on my local install and noticed a single typo with the added span. Try using this code for that span https://gist.github.com/BeardedGinger/0a1ab86367c4837f75c5.
Once added, the month became visible in the block for the widget like so https://cloudup.com/ce5FcfAKp_0.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Shah,
No problem, let me know how it works for you.
I would imagine that the changes will eventually rollout for all of our Ticket options, however WooCommerce Tickets is our primary plugin for Tickets and you would definitely be seeing it there when it is available for release.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Shah,
No problem.
If the distance isn’t needed, you can remove that field from the Filters within the settings so that it no longer appears.
For the changing of the “Near” wording, try this https://gist.github.com/BeardedGinger/c88ac722d0e6f94efce2 by adding it to your theme’s functions.php file.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
