November 17, 2015 at 7:02 am in reply to: Impossible to correctly translate Community Events #1026994

ParticipantHey Frode,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
This is definitely an issue and something that has been brought up internally before with our team. To be fully honest, I’m not sure where we settled on the issue and I don’t see any current tickets that address this issue directly. That being said, I’ve added this as a priority topic for our discussion today and will bring your concerns up with the rest of the team and will follow up with you after that.
Thanks!
November 17, 2015 at 6:42 am in reply to: The Events Calendar: Community Events – Privileges problem #1026988Josh
ParticipantHey,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
The issue with the Venues was a known bug that was addressed with the latest release. I’ve done some further testing on the category issue and was able to select and have the categories saved with the event draft details when submitting events both anonymously and as a subscriber.
As an initial step, have you tried following the Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a conflict with an existing plugin or active theme at play?
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
November 17, 2015 at 6:27 am in reply to: Past events appearing below monthly calendar on mobile #1026973Josh
ParticipantHey Keith,
Thanks for following up with us.
Re-looking at your site and screenshots, I’m terribly sorry that I didn’t notice something before. It looks like these events are supposed to still be displaying. If you take a look at the end date, the events end after the current day ( ex. the end date on the screenshot event is November 19) so they are still active and by default should be displaying there below the calendar in mobile view.
You could modify this behavior by taking advantage of the recurring events feature within pro and creating individual events for the days associated within the range rather than a single event and having the dates and times listed within the event details of the single event.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Adage,
Thanks for following up here.
You won’t need to edit your theme’s functions.php file for this one. You’ll need to follow our Themer’s Guide linked above and copy the widget file that you would like to edit from the views > widgets folder within the Pro plugin into your theme (following the structure outlined in the Themer’s Guide) and make the changes there.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Dirk,
Thanks for following up with us.
When testing again, it appears to be working fine for admin users as well on my local install. You mentioned that it was working on another site, is the admin vs. user distinction showing there as well?
My initial assumption would be that there may be some admin only filters being used on the site that is experiencing the issue. However, you mentioned that you removed all edits from the child theme. I wonder if potentially something may have gotten added to the parent theme’s functions file by mistake at some point?
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Faysal,
Thanks for following up with us here.
I did a little further testing and found some similar issues that you’re experiencing. To verify, starting from today (11/17) there should be about 40 events to import correct?
When I add the URL for a single import and click “search”, I’m currently getting 22 events available for import. Is this where you’re seeing the 15? Or are you seeing more events available and only 15 are getting imported?
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Aaron,
No problem! I’ll go ahead and close this thread for now. Even though it’ll be closed, you’ll still receive updates here as we make progress on this one and more details about when it will be released.
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to open a new thread.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey,
Thanks for reaching out to us and for the kind words.
For the image issue, it sounds like your theme may have a custom image size that is getting applied to the output, however since the import is putting the image through the regular upload process, the specific image sizes set by your theme are not getting created for the imported image.
In regards to your other questions though:
- As long as the event id stays the same, the event shouldn’t be re-imported.
- You should be able to manually generate a link based on the event ID that does get stored for the event. Having a URL that uses http://facebook.com/events/{{_FacebookID}} should link out to the event.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks1
Josh
ParticipantHey Karrie,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
As an initial step, have you tried reaching out to your hosting provider to see if they can give you some detail about what specifically is happening here. They can let you know if this is something on their end due to a system adjustment or they can give you more detail about the issue that will allow us in diagnosing if this is something that we’re able to address within our own codebase.
Let me know what you hear back.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Pauline,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
This is definitely a strange issue to be having. Do you happen to have a link where we can check this out and review the export file that is getting generated? If you would like, you can mark the reply with the link as private.
Thanks!
November 16, 2015 at 8:55 am in reply to: Setting Wootickets to automatically "check in" a ticket buyer. #1026456Josh
ParticipantHey Chris,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
It sounds like you may be referring to the order approval process rather than the event check-in process? The tickets should automatically be sent to a customer once their order has been completed.
For this, there is a way to auto-complete orders within WooCommerce by using the following https://docs.woothemes.com/document/automatically-complete-orders/.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Diane,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
This definitely sounds like a strange issue to be having. Did you happen to do any other updates or changes at the same time as the calendar updates? I’m currently testing with the same versions and can successfully get to the edit screen for adding a new event as well as editing an existing event?
As an initial step, have you tried following our testing for conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a conflict with an existing plugin or theme?
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Karen,
Thanks for reaching out to us and I apologize for the inconvenience that these issues have caused.
To address each issue directly:
- We do have some issues with exclusions that have been addressed and other that will be addressed in our next release. However, would you mind sending us a screenshot (or describing) the specific exclusion settings that you’re using so we can make sure that this isn’t something different than we’ve already noted?
- I’ve just tested the “Edit All” link (found hovering over an event within the events table in the WordPress dashboard) and was correctly taken the recurring event to edit. For this one, have you tried following our Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a conflict at play here with another plugin or theme?
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
November 16, 2015 at 8:37 am in reply to: Only display the first of a series of events on the homepage/blog #1026428Josh
ParticipantHey,
I think we may be going down a bit of a rabbit hole and taking a step back and looking at the issue you describe when you have a default theme active could be the root to understanding the rest of the situation here with your current theme.
So, I’ve currently got a default theme active and have the options to show only the first instance of a recurring event as well as including the events in the main blog loop selected. With this, my main blog loop is displaying as expected:
- Only the first instance of recurring events are included in the loop
- Only events that have passed are included in the main blog loop
I believe the issue you’re facing is related to the second thing above. When you have those settings selected and have a default theme set, you mentioned that your blog loop then contains all of your future events even into 2017 at the top of your blog loop? Does this persist if you deactivate all other plugins as well as have a default theme active?
Also, you included a link to https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/order-events-in-main-blog-loop-by-post-date/ is this code that you still have active on the site when you’re testing with a default theme?
Finally, I did want to point out this knowledgebase item on customizing RSS feed for events. As you can see, the expected behavior (which you can modify with a snippet from that article) is for the events to display there by event date rather than publication date as well.
Thanks!
November 16, 2015 at 8:04 am in reply to: the community event link doesn’t work anymore after 3.11 #1026406Josh
ParticipantHey Evgenii,
We appreciate your patience on this issue. I wanted to reach out to you to see if the original issue described here is still persisting for you? I’ve retested in our latest versions of the plugin and the issue appears to be resolved for me now.
Thanks!
