ParticipantHey @Bernd,
I unfortunately believe this is a bug with our code and we will have to issue a bug fix for this in the coming weeks. Just to be 100% clear, does this issue happen with any event view on your site, or does it only happen in the Week View grid like in your screenshots?
Also, thank you for offering to give us an admin account; however, please do not do this. We agree that it can speed things up in some ways, but it’s too great a security risk with too a potential for small mistakes to have big impacts. We are not allowed to log into customer sites for any reason.
Just wanted to let you know so that you don’t post any login information for security purposes π
Cheers!

ParticipantHey Sebastien,
I’m really sorry about the poor timing of this, but we actually had some outages with our plugin update server through the days of October 18 and October 19!
We’ve fixed those errors since, so does simply re-trying this now work any more effectively?
Let us know!

ParticipantHey Beth, thank you for your updates here and your patience with all of this in general βΒ no worries at all about how the question has changed over the duration of this thread! I’m just glad that you’ve been able to hunt down the issue, in some sense π
Stay tuned to updates βΒ we have some coming soon! Check the “changelog” section of a given plugin update’s readme file to see the full list of changes included in that release.
Cheers!

ParticipantHey @twkmedia,
I appreciate your offering to help more with testing and such, but you’ve actually done pretty much every test of import that I can think of here so far!
There’s no update on the ticket at this time, unfortunately. I’ll keep my eyes on it, and if changes related to any of this make it into a given plugin update, it will be listed in the update’s “Changelog” βΒ so keep your eyes on updates! We’ve got some coming soon π
Cheers!

ParticipantThanks for clarifying Keith! π Just wanted to be 100% sure.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention βΒ I’ve fixed the original KB article as of my writing this reply.
Cheers π

ParticipantHey Mat,
First of all, thanks so much for the kind words at the close of your reply there. Thank you! π
As for your issues, I think your tech described things perfectly:
The tech I spoke with believes my hosting plan is not good enough and it just manifests the most significantly on the events archive as that page makes a lot of requests on the server (I think that was how he put it).
I want to underscore again that we do have many, many improvements to make in terms of performance and it’s one of our biggest goals for the coming year βΒ to drastically improve performance of The Events Calendar and its add-ons! So stay tuned to The Events Calendar updates regardless, issues like this should happen less often regardless of your hosting as we improve the plugin.
Since this thread is marked “resolved”, I’ll close it up for now βΒ if other issues arise, open a new thread any time. And until then: best of luck with your site!

ParticipantThank you for the information Kevin! I requested it originally just to see if anything was clearly wrong with your site, like e.g. you were using super-outdated versions of our plugins or something, but everything looks fine with your site and so I unfortunately think this issue boils down to your theme’s templates.
An issue similar to this one, regarding a different theme, came up just yesterday β http://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/adding-full-month-calendar-view-to-wordpress-page/
I wrote some steps to Alan there that walk through creating a “Custom page template” that allows you to more closely and specifically integrate The Events Calendar’s views with your theme. Those steps worked for him and are about as detailed as we can get when it comes to customizations here βΒ I hope you take a look and perhaps find some success with those methods.
There is not much else that can be done other than those steps, unfortunately. The only alternatives I can think of are: hiring someone to make some other sort of custom/specific integration here; using a different theme with more generic/broadly-applicable page templates; or using a different calendar plugin (although any plugin regardless of what plugin it is cannot make page templates here, so you’d pretty much have the same problem again).
I’m sorry to bear this bad news! Let me know what you think about it all.
Sincerely,
GeorgeOctober 20, 2015 at 8:07 am in reply to: Known Issue: Previous Event Link on Single Event Page #1016244George
ParticipantHey @Kevin,
Thanks for this, it genuinely does help when users report that they, too, are experiencing a given bug because that raises the priority of the bug in our development cycle, thus (usually) leading to a faster resolution!
Just to be clear, do you have the exact same issue as the other users in their thread, whereby literally just turning off “Recurring events instances” fixes the issue, but turning it on causes the issue to happen again?
Let us know! π
Thanks,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantThanks for all of this information Ryley!
What’s odd about all of this is that in your system information, The Events Calendar The Events Calendar: Community Events do not show up in your site’s plugins list. That is strange!
Are these plugins network activated instead, perhaps?
If so, try deactivating them in the network dashboard, and just activate them on the individual sub-site.

ParticipantGlad to hear it Alan, thanks for providing a lot of detail in your original reply which made it easier to understand your problems.
Keep a good backup of your custom templates and such, and open another thread here anytime if other issues arise…until then, best of luck with your site! π

ParticipantAh, thanks for the heads up about that link, we will fix that. For now, can you clarify if you have any issues remaining, specifically? I’m sorry for my misunderstanding, I’m just not 100% certain about your remaining issues are, but want to be so that I can best help you π
Thanks,

ParticipantThank you for your patience @Graphic β Check out the “readme” files of each update as they come out, if a fix for this bug makes it into the release it will be listed there! π
