I have been having some issues with various pages on my site related to EC. The hardest thing for me to work around is that nothing exist on Pages. My theme (Kleo) has a ton of customizability but doesn’t affect the pages that EC uses. What i’m trying to accomplish is having a transparent header on the main landing page (done) but a solid header on the other pages (like add event). My theme has the ability to change headers for each page – but i can’t seem to do it on pages like Add Community Events as they don’t seem to be conventional pages. Can you tell me if there is a way to modify the header for only this page?

    Thanks again.

    Hey Kevin,

The Events Calendar has an option called “Events template” that might help here, based on what you wrote, quoted as such:

My theme (Kleo) has a ton of customizability but doesn’t affect the pages that EC uses

If theme customizations don’t seem to “reach” various Events Calendar pages, this could be because of the use of The Events Calendar’s page template itself.

If you head to Settings > Display > Events Template in your site’s wp-admin, try out every different template option there to change the template.

After each template change, make some simple test custmoizattions and then check out various Events Calendar pages – do the changes get applied in any templates?

Let us know what you find! If things don’t improve regardless of template, then in your reply can you include your “System Information” as described here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Thank you!
    George

Thank you for the information Kevin! I requested it originally just to see if anything was clearly wrong with your site, like e.g. you were using super-outdated versions of our plugins or something, but everything looks fine with your site and so I unfortunately think this issue boils down to your theme’s templates.

An issue similar to this one, regarding a different theme, came up just yesterday → http://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/adding-full-month-calendar-view-to-wordpress-page/

I wrote some steps to Alan there that walk through creating a “Custom page template” that allows you to more closely and specifically integrate The Events Calendar’s views with your theme. Those steps worked for him and are about as detailed as we can get when it comes to customizations here – I hope you take a look and perhaps find some success with those methods.

There is not much else that can be done other than those steps, unfortunately. The only alternatives I can think of are: hiring someone to make some other sort of custom/specific integration here; using a different theme with more generic/broadly-applicable page templates; or using a different calendar plugin (although any plugin regardless of what plugin it is cannot make page templates here, so you’d pretty much have the same problem again).

I’m sorry to bear this bad news! Let me know what you think about it all.

    Sincerely,
    George
