    Hey there,

Usually there are “Next Month” and “Previous Month” links, but your theme or other code on your site is preventing these from displaying.

You can see the usual links in action on our demo page here → http://wpshindig.com/events

You can also use the date selector in the top-left of your events view.

    Is this information helpful?

    Hey Anastasia,

Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in our plugins!

    1. Would we be able to charge for an event submission? If it’s not possible out of the box do you know of workarounds/solutions that we could consider?

There is no way for our plugins to do this on their own, unfortunately—but you can implement paid access to the submission form with something like Restrict Content Pro.

    2. Can I integrate imports from multiple macbook events pages (e.g. from other people who want us to display their events so that they would be able to provide us any information we might need for multi-FB integration)

You wrote “multiple macbook events pages”—do you mean multiple Facebook pages? If so, then yes, you can import from several Facebook pages. If you mean something else let me know, and sorry in advance for my misunderstanding. 🙂

    3. Is there any way to have advertising pop ups, banners, etc. integrated into events’ pages?

This is possible with some code customization—we are not able to help with that at all, unfortunately, so if you cannot make the code edits on your own you would likely need to hire a professional developer to help.

You can learn the basic methods for making the sorts of customizations required by reading this page → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/

    I hope this helps!

    Hey @DEBEIX,

I’m sorry to hear about these issues on your site—can you share your system information with us? All attendee info exports fine for me—there could be a bug or code conflict here, and the first step in finding out is to investigate your system information.

You can learn how to share your system info here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Thanks!

in reply to: Custom fields possible in front end submissions? #1086864

    Hey Bryan,

Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in our plugins!

Custom fields are unfortunately not supported on the Community Events submission forms by default, with one exception: “Additional Fields” specifically created within Events Calendar Pro’s “Additional Fields” options.

These are essentially custom fields—but I just wanted to be clear that only fields created in the specific way described here are supported → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-additional-fields/

Check out those fields and see if they are robust enough to provide the features you need—if you need more specific control and want to use different kinds of fields, then unfortunately that would indeed require custom development. 🙁

I hope this information is clear and helps! Let me know.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hey Michael,

    Thanks for reaching out!

If you are trying to have this happen more or less automatically—in other words, you don’t want to manually be importing events from A and B to C on a day-by-day basis—then unfortunately the only solution for that would be our iCal Importer plugin.

Each calendar generates a feed of its events. If the Events page URL is site-a.com/events, the feed URL is site-a.com/events/feed.

So with the iCal Importer plugin, if you want events of A and B to imported to the calendar on C, you would install the iCal Importer plugin on site C. Then, you would add recurring automatic imports for both feeds of Site A and Site B.

On the interval you set, Site A’s feed and Site B’s Feed will be queried for new events, and if new events are found, they’ll be imported into Site C. 🙂

I hope this explanation is clear and helpful—check out the iCal Importer’s product page for more information on this process I described above! → https://theeventscalendar.com/product/ical-importer/

    Thank you,
    George

    Hey David!

Thanks for your questions and interest in our plugins.

    – is it possible to know who is coming and who is not to the submmited event? and be able to check people in at the event.

Yes — If you use the Event Tickets plugin to require people to RSVP to events, you can get an “Attendees List” of the folks who’ve RSVPed. This doesn’t quite allow for a “Check-in” system like you mention though—for that, you would unfortunately need to add the pro ticketing add-on, too—Event Tickets Plus, and then WooCommerce as well. The combination of these three plugins (Event Tickets, Event Tickets Plus, WooCommerce) would allow for ticket sales, which have attendees lists that DO have a check-in feature.

If you want these features for community-submitted events, then you would have to add an additional plugin to the mix: Community Tickets.

    – can users subscribe to receive emails when users post new events on calendar?

This is unfortunately not possible as a feature of our own plugins—you could construct this on your site through some other means, like custom coding or with other plugins, but this is not an out-of-the-box feature our plugins are capable of. 🙁

    – is it possible to accept rewiews and ratings about organized events?

This is unfortunately not possible as a feature of our own plugins—you could construct this on your site through some other means, like custom coding or with other plugins, but this is not an out-of-the-box feature our plugins are capable of. 🙁

    Thank you!

    Hey Karly,

This is indeed an interesting problem—your proposed solution does look promising. To modify the next- and previous-event action links’ HTML, you would have to modify the code in template files labeled nav.php.

There are a few different instances of nav.php files for the different calendar views—though they’re all quite similar, and are easy to customize.

    The views are as follows:

    • /the-events-calendar/src/views/day/nav.php
    • /the-events-calendar/src/views/list/nav.php
    • /the-events-calendar/src/views/month/nav.php

Best of luck with your customizing!
    George

    PS

    1. I do not know of another way to do this without modifying core files. If you can do it with pure JavaScript, then you could write that JavaScript in a JavaScript file on your site somewhere and just load it on event pages. So this wouldn’t require modifying core plugin files…just a thought!

    2. To find the location of any markup you are curious about, or would like to modify, I would recommend getting a text editor like Sublime Text. Any good text editor like this will have a “Find in Folder” feature that lets you search for code like this in a folder—so you could search all of the plugin code for The Events Calendar by searching the folder /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar, for example. A query on this folder for “next” or “prev” would lead you to the files I listed above. 🙂 It’s a huge help! I highly recommend looking into this.

    Hey Damien,

I’m sorry to bear this news, but at this time this is unfortunately not possible. 🙁

It might be with a very large amount of code customizing, but unfortunate there is no way to achieve this with our plugins out-of-the-box or with just a few code tweaks.

Sorry to bear this news—let me know if I can try to help with anything else!

    Hey Vasilis,

Thanks for your purchase! I’m sorry you’re having trouble here and am happy to help.

To address things in reverse order, the license key issues will not cause the Filter Bar display issues. Those display issues are likely the result of theme or plugin JavaScript conflicts.

I checked out the page on socialface.gr/events directly but could not spot such a conflict.

I also cannot reproduce errors with the “This key is not valid” message.

So, to try and figure out if there’s a code conflict issue with these problems, I would recommend that you run through these steps here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

After each step in that process, check on both of the above issues—look at your /events page and see if the Filter Bar displays any better, and try saving your new license key.

Does either issue improve anywhere along the way?

    Thank you!

in reply to: How to get custom meta field from a recurring event? #1086825

    Hey Erick,

Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry to hear about some of the trouble here—one of the things that stood out to me in your write-up was your comment here:

One of the recurring events is titled “HIGHLIGHTS TOUR”, where I used the “Edit All” link to update those two meta fields to “free with admission” and

The “edit all” link does not usually allow meta-field customization—does ACF specifically add this functionality to WordPress?

If so, then maybe the issue is happening here, where the fields themselves were not updated as expected.

if you go to a single instance of a recurring event, for example, can you confirm that is actually has values for these fields? It sounds to me thus far that the fields just don’t have values on these singular recurring event instances.

Sorry if I’m wrong here—it’s just a potential culprit here, and worth confirming before exploring other options. Let me know what you think!

    Hey Jeremy,

I am unable to recreate either issue here—really sorry to hear about these happening on your site!

To help investigate the Customizer issue, for starters can you try leaving all plugins except The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro deactivated on your site?

Then, activate a default theme like Twenty Sixteen, and try the Customizer again—do the same issues persist?

The 500 internal server upon clicking the “Settings” link is not something I can recreate either. When your site is in the state above—where The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro are the ONLY active plugins, and a default theme like Twenty Sixteen is activated—do you have the same 500 error?

If you do both tests here and issues persist, then in your reply can you post your “System Information”? Here’s how to do that → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Thank you!

    Hi Lluís,

While making CSS customizations is indeed possible, it is not something we can help with much here—check out the “Product Support” section of this page for more information about his: http://theeventscalendar.com/terms

If you need to write custom CSS on your site, definitely check out a [free!] tool like Firebug if you use FireFox, or the Developer Tools for either Safari or Chrome. They have “Inspector” tools that let you zoom right over the element whose styles you would like to change.

As an example, you could use these tools to hover over mini calendar days that have events—and then you can just add some background-color styles to these elements to change their background to black, which appears to be the goal in your screenshot.

That CSS would look something like this—try pasting this into your theme’s style.css file:

    .tribe-mini-calendar td.tribe-events-has-events {
    background-color: #000 !important;
    }

    I hope this information helps!

    Hey Sebastian,

These features are indeed all possible! 🙂

You would need quite a few plugins to achieve all of these features, but they are possible to have if you have all of the following plugins installed and activated on your site:

    • The Events Calendar
    • Event Tickets
    • Event Tickets Plus
    • WooCommerce

So, you are indeed right about needing to add WooCommerce and Event Tickets Plus. This will allow for the checkout process for tickets where users create their account—and will generate tickets so that they know their reservation, while also having access to their order history and such.

I hope this is the information you’re looking for—let me know!

    Thanks,

    Hey Stacy,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Our plugins do not offer any features for building directories. I’m sorry to bear this news!

One option that might be helpful for your project is WP Job Manager—https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-job-manager/

It’s built for “job” directories out of the box, but with just a touch of customizing and tweaking you can make it label everything for “businesses” instead of jobs. And it works very well—it’s very solid plugin, with great code. It is great for building “directories” of any kind.

Reach out to the WP Job Manager folks and documentation if you have any further questions about it—I hope it helps!

Best of luck with your project,

    Hey Nick,

I’m sorry to hear about this!

Since this forum is the pre-sales questions forum, can you log into the account on this site that you created while buying your license, and then post in a Premium Support forum?

In that reply, can you also share your “system information”? Here’s how to do that → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

What you should be able to do is go into an edit-event screen on your site and click a “Resync” button for any event that was imported from Facebook.

Do you find this to be the case? Let us know in your new premium-forums thread.

I will close this thread for now—and will keep an eye out for your reply in the Premium forums!

    Thank you,
    George
