Ah, thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, the same principle applies for multiday as well.

Does that help answer your question?

    Cheers!

    Hi Michelle,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you have some frustrations with the plugin.

I understand you’re disappointed with the way the Event Rocket plugin has failed to integrate with our plugin the way you were hoping. Unfortunately, Event Rocket is a third-party plugin that isn’t officially supported by us, so there’s bound to be some limitations. I’m sorry if it was somehow communicated to you that we support that plugin.

I’m also sorry if we gave a false impression that two calendars could be embedded on the same page. As it currently stands, The Events Calendar does not support managing multiple calendars. If there was confusion there, please let us know how we could have communicated that better so we can help clarify it for others as well.

I also purchased WooTickets with this, and I’d like to set up a “shop” page where users can just select a bunch of tickets to purchase without the clutter of all event info. The documentation/tutorial aspect on this is lacking.

Tickets are registered as Products in WooCommerce. That means you are able to include them in the WooCommerce product catalog on the front end of your site, which is totally separate from the Events posts. To do this, go to the Products section of your admin dashboard, edit the ticket you want to add to the catalog, then change the “Catalog visibility” setting (screenshot). You’re right that this would make a nice tutorial–even if it is a WooCommerce feature–and I’ll bring it up to our team.

As it stands, aside from WooTickets, I don’t feel like Events Calendar Pro does anything different or better than other free plugins out there

I’m really sorry you feel that way. We do pack a lot of features into the free version of the plugin, but feel that PRO extends them with additional features (i.e. recurring events, saved venues and organizers, several additional views, etc.). You mentioned really liking the Photo View, which is a Pro-only feature. Also, just to clarify, WooTickets will function with the free The Events Calendar plugin and does not require PRO in order to work.

If you feel let down by the plugins, you’re welcome to request a full refund by emailing us at pro [at] tri.be and including your receipt. Of course, we’d hate to see you go, but totally understand if you feel there is a better solution that meets your specific needs.

Thanks again for getting in touch and sharing your thought.

Hi there, Anne! Thanks for getting in touch. 🙂

You have some great questions in here. Let’s see if we can tackle them one at a time.

I’d like to know first if once purchased, I will have somehow the possibility of changing the look of individual events pages on the front end so that they look like standard Woocommerce products (for example with the featured image on the left, the info box (with date, hour, info, ticket, etc) on the right of the pic, and then, below the description of the event?

WooTickets literally takes the events template that is already in use by The Events Calendar plugins and embeds an order form for tickets associated with it. That said, you could try using a theme override (see our Themer’s Guide for more info) of the single-event.php file and use conditional statements (e.g. tribe_events_has_tickets) to create custom displays based on whether an event has tickets or not.

An alternative is to display your created tickets in the WooCommerce product gallery. Tickets are registered as Products in WooCommerce and will be given product pages that way as well.

    Also, are Woocommerce reviews supported?

Not directly in the events post. However, I imagine they would be on the product pages for each ticket, if enabled.

    what happens to past events?

Past events continue to display in the archives of your calendar. For example, in Month View, visitors will be able to browse back in time to previous months. As far as tickets go, you set Start and End Dates for when they are available for purchase, which limits when visitors would be able to access them. By default, the plugin will stop you from trying to set a Start Date for tickets that is after the State Date of the event, as well as trying to set an End Date for tickets that is after the End Date of the event. It’s got your back. 🙂

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.

    Cheers!

Hi there, Otilia! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. 🙂

Currently there is no way to show only the first instance of a recurring event in Month View – though you can add your vote for this feature – but beyond that this would take some custom development work on your end.

One approach might be to adapt the calendar template (see our Themer’s Guide for details) and maintain a list of any recurring events that have already been rendered – then ignore future instances.

Sorry I’m unable to provide a concrete solution for you here, but I hope this helps answer your question.

    Cheers!

Hi there, Yossi! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. We’re stoked you’re enjoying the plugin so far. 🙂

Great questions. Let’s see if we can tackle them one at a time.

    1. I’m using “BetterMag” theme. Title of the pages (main calendar, category and event pages) doesn’t show on the theme location.

Are you using the Default Events Template? You can check this by heading into Events > Settings > Display. Go ahead and select it if it isn’t already and save the changes to see if that makes a difference.

The standard events template is its own template, but some themes will override it, which causes some conflicts. In those cases, it’s often best to try to contact the theme author to see if why the theme is doing that.

    2. Is there a way to use the build in post categories on wordpress insted of the calendar event categories?

Good question, but unfortunately, this one is outside of our control. The events themselves are just custom post types, and the event categories are a custom taxonomy we created to support them. Perhaps tags would work instead? Unlike categories, these rely on the default WordPress structure for tagging posts.

Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know and thanks again for your support. 🙂

    Cheers!

I wonder if you could get away with using get_categories() instead and setting the “hide_empty” parameter to 1.

I’ll leave this thread open a while longer to see if any other thoughts or ideas pop in. We’d also love it if you share the solution when you find it. 🙂

    Cheers!
