Hey TJ and thanks for getting in touch! I’m stoked to hear you’re checking out our plugins and I hope they are a good fit for your new site as you move to WordPress. 🙂

Our plugins are great for a lot of the things you listed, but I’m afraid not all of them. I think you will have these items covered:

    • Categories for different classes
    • Calendar to website
    • Check-in function at class
    • Early registration price
    • Add different price structures: child, grandparent, single parents, etc
    • Backroom to manually register clients and add notes to “file”
    • FAQs added to each class.

    …with the following plugins installed:

I know this doesn’t cover everything on your list, but does it at least help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

Nice, so glad to to hear things are working smoothly–thanks for letting us know, Anna!

It is certainly weird that it would correct itself, so do please let us know if this pops back up for any reason and we’d be happy to check it out with you. 🙂

    Cheers,

Thanks for following up, AJ! Sorry I wasn’t able to nail this one, but your plan to change the wording sounds good. One thing I do whenever I’m forced to modify core code is create a text file outside of the directory that outlines my changes to the code so that I know what I changed and how to change it back for future updates.

Cheers and please do let us know if any other questions pop up–we’d be happy to help. 🙂

in reply to: Events do not sync with Eventbrite #1097919

Thanks for following up, Graeme! I’m sorry to hear the issue is continuing.

I’m really struggling with this one. I’ve been successfully able to sync events on my test site and it looks as though you are running the same versions of the plugin that I am. Doesn’t mean there isn’t an issue, but it means we may have to dig a little deeper.

My initial hunch is that there is a connection issue with the Eventbrite API. Our plugin relies on Eventbrite’s API to be open and connected for the syncing to work. Otherwise, it will fail because it has nothing to communicate with to find those events.

The next thing I would like to try here is creating a fresh test site — this will avoid any disruption to your live site and ensure that we’ve effectively got a “clean canvas” to work with.

    • Please install a fresh copy of WordPress in a subdirectory (if you have a CPanel-type hosting account there will probably be a one-click install script to make this really easy)
    • Don’t install anything except The Events Calendar and Eventbrite Tickets
    • Please also stick to a default theme, like WordPress Twenty Sixteen —  again, there’s no need to install anything else just yet!
    • Add the Eventbrite Tickets settings and try importing a few events from Eventbrite into WordPress
    • Can you replicate the same problem?
    • If you find you can replicate the problem under these conditions it would be awesome if you could stop and let us know so we can take a look while the site is still running under default conditions.

    Thanks for your help!

Sure thing! The message has been re-sent to both you and James and it will come from support [at] this website address.

Let me know if it still doesn’t come through for some reason and I’d be happy to try again.

    Thanks,

    Ah yes, that’s exactly it!

Do you see the setting that says “Recurrence Rules: Every day and will end never”? That is what is telling the calendar to create so many copies of the same event.

You will want to delete that event (so that it completely wipes all the recurring events from the site) and re-publish it without the recurrence setting in place.

If, however, you would like to have the event recur every day with no end, then I would suggest heading to Events > Settings and checking the option for “Recurring Event Instances” (screenshot) so that the calendar’s list views only show one instance of the event rather than all of them.

Will this work for you? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi @frugalphillymom,

    Sorry for the trouble!

It looks like that event is set up as a recurring event. Would you be willing to go to the editor for that event and take a screenshot of the recurrence setting for it so I can check them out? I have a feeling that the recurrence settings might be creating lots of duplicates in this case and having a screenshot will help me determine that for you.

    Thanks!

    Hey Scott,

Thanks for the kind words! Glad you’re enjoying the plugin so far, and sorry for the trouble here with the mini calendar widget.

I was just checking out the site and it looks like the widget is there and that events are displayed with it (screenshot). The colors make some of the calendar numbers hard to read (which could be customized with some CSS) but everything else looks like it’s working as expected.

Did you happen to figure out the issue on your own? Or perhaps I’m looking in the wrong place–and, if that’s the case, it would be awesome if you could point me in the right direction and I’d be happy to take another look. 🙂

    Cheers!
    Geoff
