I have done the theme conflict test and the problem persists. I have also made sure the Eventbrite app was setup correctly, same problem.

Hi Graeme and welcome to the forums. Sorry for the trouble here with syncing events with Eventbrite, but I’m happy to dig into it with you and see what’s happening.

First off, I see you also have the Eventbrite API plugin installed in addition to Eventbrite Tickets. Does the issue continue to happen when that plugin is deactivated? I want to check that right off the bat in case the effort both plugins put into syncing is somehow conflicting with one another.

Secondly, has this been an ongoing issue? The reason I ask is because I notice you’ve had the plugin for a few months and it would be helpful to know when you started noticing the issue with syncing and whether you know about any updates to the site that happened around the same time. Do you recall?

Let’s start here and see what we find.

    Thanks!

The issue is still happening with the Eventbrite API as well. This was not happening before. I noticed the problem last weekend.

I installed the W3 cache plugin, but I deactivated that plugin thinking it was the problem. I am still having the issue although I have gotten rid of that plugin. The plugin was working well until about a week ago. Could it be an update issue?

Thanks for following up, Graeme! I’m sorry to hear the issue is continuing.

I’m really struggling with this one. I’ve been successfully able to sync events on my test site and it looks as though you are running the same versions of the plugin that I am. Doesn’t mean there isn’t an issue, but it means we may have to dig a little deeper.

My initial hunch is that there is a connection issue with the Eventbrite API. Our plugin relies on Eventbrite’s API to be open and connected for the syncing to work. Otherwise, it will fail because it has nothing to communicate with to find those events.

The next thing I would like to try here is creating a fresh test site — this will avoid any disruption to your live site and ensure that we’ve effectively got a “clean canvas” to work with.

    • Please install a fresh copy of WordPress in a subdirectory (if you have a CPanel-type hosting account there will probably be a one-click install script to make this really easy)
    • Don’t install anything except The Events Calendar and Eventbrite Tickets
    • Please also stick to a default theme, like WordPress Twenty Sixteen —  again, there’s no need to install anything else just yet!
    • Add the Eventbrite Tickets settings and try importing a few events from Eventbrite into WordPress
    • Can you replicate the same problem?
    • If you find you can replicate the problem under these conditions it would be awesome if you could stop and let us know so we can take a look while the site is still running under default conditions.

    Thanks for your help!

I just tried this again, and it still will not update. Have you seen anyone solve this issue yet?

    Thanks for following up, Graeme!

I have not seen this issue come up, so no solution yet. Do you have the test site up and running? If so, will you please link me over to it?

    Thanks,
    Geoff
