MemberHey Mark,
What an interesting question! While The Events Calendar doesn’t include voting right out of the box, I wonder if there’s another way to make this happen. For example, one idea might be to use a plugin that allows you to create, submit and vote on ideas and the ones that rise to the top in votes gets an event. There are a few plugins that do this:
The most voted submissions can be turned into events on The Events Calendar and tickets can be sold using both Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus.
In other words, I think it is possible, but may take a few more pieces than what we offer alone.
Will this work for you? Please let me know if you have any other questions and I’d be happy to help as best I can.
Cheers!

MemberHi Kara and thanks for chiming in! That might very well be possible, but it would take a level of custom development that we unfortunately are unable to support here in the forums.

MemberThat is definitely strange!
Would you be willing to reach out to the theme author? It seems likely that there is something in the theme that is preventing it from recognizing the calendar as a custom archive template which would cause it skip over the calendar when placing the navigation.
I’ll definitely leave this thread open in the meantime, of course, so that I can help answer with any questions that might come up in that conversation that I can help answer.
Thanks!

MemberThanks for doing that, Kevin! I’d love to see others jump on that as well.
You’re right — ACF will not directly affect the calendar’s custom fields, but you can add an ACF field to Events posts and then modify the single event view template to incorporate the ACF field.
Sorry again for not having a concrete answer for you here, but I hope this at least helps answer your question.

MemberHi Ella,
You would remove this part of the condition:
|| $query->query_vars[‘eventDisplay’] == ‘month’I’d be happy to help further, but it looks like we’re getting much more into technical support than Pre-Sales and we only provide technical support for active license holders of our premium products. I’ll go ahead and close this thread, but do please feel free to purchase a license if you would like additional technical support. You are also free to search around the forums for answers, or check out our Knowledgebase.
Cheers!

MemberHey Kevin — good question!
Text areas are definitely possible in the additional fields settings, though I’m afraid that setting it up with default content is not. That sounds like it would make an excellent idea in our feature request forum.
You might be able to pull that off with Advanced Custom Fields instead, but I’m sorry it isn’t baked right into The Events Calendar.

MemberHi Ella and thanks for getting in touch!
Yes, that is certainly possible, though I will caution that it will take some custom development on your end to make it happen.
For example, here is a snippet that can be added to your functions.php file that will exclude specific categories in List View and that you can use a blueprint.
Did you have any pre-sales questions I can help answer? Please let me know.

MemberHi Rene and welcome to the forums. 🙂
Good question. That link is actually a customization in the Avada theme itself, but you should be able to remove it by adding this to your theme’s style.css file or by using the Simple Custom CSS plugin:
.fusion-tribe-events-venue-details-map { display: none; }Will this work for you? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHey Mark and thanks for getting in touch!
Our plugins aren’t very good for booking places (e.g. hotels) but are better instead for selling admission to an event (i.e. concerts, classes). Our Event Tickets plugin allows you to set up RSVPs for events and our Event Tickets Plus plugin allows you to create and sell tickets for those events. You can set a maximum number of tickets for each event and people can return their purchases, but I’m afraid the plugins will not automatically notify the next person in line for a ticket, should there be people in reserve.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂
