ParticipantHello guys,
I have a site here :
http://collegecentreofboardexcellence.ca/
I’m trying to figure out how to add my main menu that is on :
http://collegecentreofboardexcellence.ca/home/
I want that top main menu to be on the actual event’s page:
E.g. :
http://collegecentreofboardexcellence.ca/event/introduction-to-risk-management-part-three/I’ve clicked on settings: and I’ve then clicked on Display.
I’m just trying to figure out how to have menu show up on the actual event page.
And I’m not sure how to do that.

MemberHi Lang — nice to see you again. 🙂
Will you please try heading to Events > Settings > Display and changing the default page template to one of your theme’s templates (screenshot)?
Chances are that the theme has a different or custom way of constructing menus than the standard WordPress method and is ignoring the calendar as an archive template — changing to one of your theme’s templates will likely resolve that.
Let’s start there and see what we find.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey,
So I tried all the page templates , and none give me the main menu like this page:
http://collegecentreofboardexcellence.ca/home/
This is what I see :
Any idea, what I should do ?

MemberHi Lang,
Are you able to add menus by going to Appearance > Menus from the WordPress dashboard?
If those options aren’t there, then I think this might be a better question for the theme author since the menu management appears to be slightly different than a typical default WordPress theme and would be know the way around it.
Thanks!

ParticipantYes, I’m able to create menus, no problem.
It doesn’t make any sense, because i’m checking the pages, and I’m using the default pages template, and the pages have the menu:
http://collegecentreofboardexcellence.ca/home/
I select default page themes in the events display, but it still doesn’t have the menu.
Is it because the main theme has a child theme ?

MemberThat is definitely strange!
Would you be willing to reach out to the theme author? It seems likely that there is something in the theme that is preventing it from recognizing the calendar as a custom archive template which would cause it skip over the calendar when placing the navigation.
I’ll definitely leave this thread open in the meantime, of course, so that I can help answer with any questions that might come up in that conversation that I can help answer.
Thanks!
