I should note: it would be awesome if you could open your site up to being able to RSVP without logging in so I can test one of the existing events you have open. 🙂

Thanks Peter! I’m not seeing anything wrong in the system information, so let’s see if there’s a possible conflict with the theme or perhaps another installed plugin.

Will you please follow the steps outlined in this post and let me know if you notice any different when the site is in default conditions — that is, a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Sixteen) is activated and not other plugins are active, except for Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus.

Also, would you be willing to set up a test event on your site when it’s in default conditions that I can use to RSVP for an event? That will give me something else to test as well.

Thanks for your help with this! This test should get us to a place where my test site and your site are in the same conditions and we can see where the issue is coming from.

Dang, that is definitely a disappointment.

I did some more digging on this and found that we do have a ticket for this in our system. That’s good news in that it’s on our radar and that I am able to (and have) added this thread to the ticket so we can continue to follow up with you as progress is made.

The bad news is that there currently no timeframe for fixing this. In fact, we’re actively working on a new product that will solve this entirely called Event Aggregator and that will actually release in about a month: https://theeventscalendar.com/wordpress-event-aggregator/

I really wish I had a workaround to offer in the meantime, but I’m afraid the best thing would be to run the import for each Facebook page in batches of 10-20 at a time.

I know that is not ideal at all. That said, I see that you just purchased the Facebook Events plugin on 8/10 and I would be happy to refund the purchase for you — I understand how this can be a deal breaker and want to make sure you have that offer on the table. Let me know and I can do that for you.

Thanks so much for hanging with on this — it’s a super frustrating issue.

Thanks so much for this, Marcus!

Can you confirm a couple of things for me:

    • Exactly how many Facebook pages are scheduled for import?
    • Does anything change if you drop the number to something like 10 pages?

My hunch is that you are using a number of feeds that is greater than the plugin can handle — and admittedly that we may not have tested for — so the answers to the questions will help us see if that’s the issue and to what degree the plugin is not properly scaling.

    Thanks!

    Thanks, George!

The one thing that looks missing is Event Tickets:

    Event Tickets and Registration

Will you please install and activate that plugin and let me know if it makes a difference in your settings? I know it can be confusing, but Event Tickets Plus requires that Event Tickets also is installed in order to function correctly.

    Thanks!

Awesome! I’ll go ahead and close this thread but please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions about any of the plugins before purchasing and we’d be happy to help. 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hi Ian,

Yes, the calendar does indeed include RSS feeds right out of the box for the main calendar and category views. Any of those feeds can be located by adding /feed at the end of the URL of the current view.

Tags are a little different, however, since they are shared with default WordPress posts. That means the archive of posts will contain both Posts and Events in the same place and no RSS will be automatically generated by the calendar.

    Cheers!

    Hi Peter,

Would you be willing to go to Events > Settings > Help, copy the system System Information at the bottom of the screen and paste it here for me as a private reply? that will give me extra details about your installation to check for errors.

    Thanks!

    Hi George,

Sorry for the trouble here! Would you be willing to head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the system information at the bottom of the screen and paste it here for me as a private reply?

That will give me an overview of what’s installed so I can check to make sure everything is in there correctly.

    Thanks a ton!

Hey there and hope you had a great weekend!

Try adding this CSS instead and let me know if it does the trick. 🙂

    .tribe_community_edit #event_cost,
    .tribe_community_edit #event_website {
    display: none;
    }

    Cheers,

    Hi Rob,

So weird! You should be able to reply to your last topic as long as you are logged in but I’m sorry for the trouble.

I’m not totally sure why Event Tickets 4.1.4 would be different on your site from what is packaged in the official release — it could well be that not all of the files correctly downloaded during the installation process or there was a packaging issue somewhere down the line.

In either case, I can confirm that:

    • event-tickets/common/src/Tribe/Utils/
    • event-tickets/src/Tribe/Attendance.php

…are both included in the latest version of Event Tickets (4.2.4) and would be needed for the latest versions to function correctly.

    Cheers!

You can snag a copy of The Events Calendar 4.1.4 right here on WordPress.org:

Hey Marcus, thanks for reaching out and I hope you had a great weekend!

How strange — there should be a box at the very bottom of the Events > Import > Facebook screen at the end of the list of imported events and scheduled imports. I see the screenshots you sent, but it looks like you are not seeing that box at all. Is that correct? Here’s a screenshot of it on my test site as an example of how it should appear.

Let’s confirm that before we dig much deeper. If you’re not seeing that box at all, then we will likely start by updating the plugins and running a check for conflicts.

    Thanks!

Hi Maxine, thanks for getting in touch — I hope you had a great weekend.

The license price is an annual cost. However, I do want to note that we provide renewals at a discounted rate and that an active license provides you access to technical support and plugin updates. In other words, the plugins will continue to function even if your licenses expire — you will simply lose access to support and plugin updates.

I would suggest Events Calendar PRO if you are looking for recurring events. That feature is included in the plugin, as well as many other features you may find come in handy as well.

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

    Cheers!
    Geoff
