ParticipantMastafu,
I reached out to one of our developers and this was his response:“This is not easily possible. The media uploader depends so much on admin Javascript and templates, etc.
It is a security issue. The media UI doesn’t really provide much room for filtering capabilities.”
I know that’s definitely not the answer you were looking for, but it looks like there are some security and technical concerns with implementing this for anonymous users.
So sorry! I wish I could help further, but it looks like this just isn’t possible in the current release.
Thanks!
Casey
ParticipantGreat! Since it looks like you’re all sorted, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.
We really appreciate your support and please let us know if you need anything else in the future. If you find yourself with a few minutes and would be so kind as to give us a “Works” rating or a positive star voting on the WordPress.org repo (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar/), or even a shoutout to your followers on Facebook or Twitter, it would mean a lot to us. Thanks again for using the plugin.

ParticipantHc2ca,
I’m so sorry! It looks like my code above was modified when I pasted it in. Line 53 should look like this (remove the space between < and the ?): http://pastebin.com/p0qxA3jYTry that and let me know if that fixes it. Thanks!

ParticipantMastafu,
I’ll reach out to our developers to get their feedback to see if something like this is possible. Please stand by.Casey
ParticipantMastafu,
If you’re needing Custom Fields on your Community Submission form (and you have EC Pro), you can just add them from your WP Dashboard by going to Events->Settings->Additional Fields. These custom fields will show up with all Events, as well as showing up on your Community Submission form under ‘Additional Fields’: http://d.pr/i/nMgE
Regarding the Media Uploader, since that would be a Customization we unfortunately can’t support that functionality. If you’re really needing some Customizations, we can refer you to some (trusted) Freelancers who can do this type of work for you.
Hope that helps! Thanks!

ParticipantMastafu,
Thanks for following up, and so sorry I missed that second question!I’m not familiar with the ACF plugin, but depending on how they’ve implemented the button it is possible that it would display.
In this thread, one of our other users had an issue with buttons not displaying in the Visual Editor on the Community Submission Form, which turned out to be an issue with how the buttons were implemented in the plugin.
My suggestion would be to reach out to the plugin author, or examine the plugin code closely, to determine how they’ve implemented buttons in the Visual Editor.
Thanks!

ParticipantOliver,
Also, feel free to submit this idea as a feature request for a future release of Community on our UserVoice page. Thanks!
Casey
ParticipantOliver,
Unfortunately, that is not currently possible without customizing your Community Submission form.Take a look at this thread where I explain how to add Custom Javascript to the Community Form, which you would use to make the fields required.
Hopefully that helps get you started in the right direction. Thanks!
Casey
ParticipantMastafu,
Yes, the Media Uploader (with Gallery functionality) is turned off in Community for security reasons, since we don’t want just anyone uploading files directly to your media library. If this is something you require, please feel free to suggest it as a feature for a future release of Community on our User Voice page.
Hope that helps. Thanks!

ParticipantMike,
Regarding your first question, no. delete_posts will only allow them to delete their own posts, but it only applies to Blog Posts so you can uncheck it if that’s not needed.Regarding your second question, yes. You should enable those capabilities if you’d like them to be able to publish events without approval.
Here’s more information on Capabilities in WordPress: Roles and Capabilities.
Hope this helps! Just let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!

ParticipantThanks for confirming that this got you sorted. Unless you disagree, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.

ParticipantHc2ca,
It sounds like you’re not running version 3.1 of Community, since you have the ‘hooks’ folder in your plugin directory. Could you try updating to 3.1 and then trying my instructions above? Thanks!October 20, 2013 at 8:18 am in reply to: Saved venues and organizers emtptied on new event submission #71797Casey
ParticipantHannu,
I doubt this would be the issue, but could you try switching the language to English in this new WordPress instance? The only difference between your configuration and mine, seems to be the Finnish language settings. So sorry you’ve been having this issue, but hopefully we can get to the bottom of it. Thanks!

ParticipantMike,
It’s definitely possible to give them access to only edit/add events in the back-end. You’ll want to install a Role Management plugin (I suggest this one), which will allow you to manage the capabilities that their user role has access to.After installing the plugin, just go to Users->Roles to edit their current role, and make sure they have the following capabilities checked: http://d.pr/i/XaAv
This should allow them to create new Events, and Edit only Events that they’ve created.
Hope that gets you on the right track! Just let me know if you have other questions.

ParticipantTim,
It sounds like that’s not the issue, since you haven’t performed a template override. We’ve noticed a significant reduction of spam submissions on our Demo Site: WP Shindig, so I’m surprised that you’re still receiving so much.
Our developers are still looking at some different possible ways of implementing this for future releases, so I’ll keep you posted.
Thanks!
