ParticipantMilcms,
Thanks for reaching out! Hopefully I can help you out here. The best way to handle this would probably be to just hide that row on the submission form using some CSS.Try pasting the following code into your theme’s functions.php file and let me know if it does the trick: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/7682707

ParticipantRagots,
So sorry to hear you’re having issues with this. Could you try reverting to the Twenty Thirteen theme to see if this issue persists? I suspect that this is an issue with the theme that you’re using.Give that a try and let me know. Thanks!

ParticipantCkangell,
Thanks for reaching out! Are you talking about adding Month Dropdown on the Calendar Date Picker? This should already be displaying by default like this: http://d.pr/i/oBDMAre you seeing something similar to that on your submission form? If not, please send me a link to your Community Events submission form so I can take a closer look.
Thanks!

ParticipantGadgetcoach,
You should be able to paste this code snippet into your theme’s functions.php file: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/7600520You’ll also need to add some custom Javascript that checks the form fields, and here’s a great introduction to form validation with Javascript.
Good luck, and let us know if you have other questions!
Casey
ParticipantVinuac,
Unfortunately I can’t make the customizations for you, as that falls outside of the scope of our support. However, you should be able to follow my instructions above to accomplish this, or find a developer that could.I’m sorry I’m not able to do this for you, but please let me know if you have any questions about my instructions. Thanks!

ParticipantVinuac,
That’s correct. Deleting an organizer will delete them completely from the site. The best way to remove the Organizers dropdown is to perform a template override and then modify some code. Here’s how to do this:
1) Just create the following new directory structure in your theme directory: β/tribe-events/communityβ
2) After doing that, go to βwp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/views/community/β and copy over all files to the new directory you created in Step 1.
3) Then modify ‘modules/organizer.php’ and comment out line 38 so it looks like this: http://pastebin.com/iGgfzk9Q
That should completely hide the Organizers dropdown, so users will have to enter in all of the information for every new submission.
Just let me know if that takes care of the issue. Thanks!

ParticipantDoreswap,
This is the same issue with the theme dropdowns. I attempted to fix this by also unloading those two JS files on any events pages, but it was an ugly result (http://d.pr/i/MaiL) so I undid that change.I would contact your theme developer to see if there’s an easier way to disable those dropdowns on selected items.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!
November 21, 2013 at 2:13 pm in reply to: i’m confused… do i HAVE to use community events for member submissions?? #77937Casey
ParticipantHaving a nice front-end form is just more user friendly for the end user. If you’re not worried about that and want to give them access to create new Events from the dashboard (instead of just visiting a submission form on your website), then you don’t need Community.
Let me know if that clears things up for you. Thanks!
