Hopefully I can help you out here. The easiest way to cleanup that dropdown is to go edit and remove duplicate Organizers from the site. To do that, go to ‘Events->Organizers’ and you can modify the list there.

    Is that what you’re asking?

    Marty,
In order to customize the event submission form, you’ll need to perform a template override of any of the Community Events views that you wish to change. Here’s how to do this:

    1) Just create the following new directory structure in your theme directory: ‘/tribe-events/community’

    2) After doing that, go to ‘wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/views/community/’ and copy over all files to the new directory you created in Step 1.

This should allow you to modify any of the Community View files and still keep your changes when there’s an update to the plugin.

Hope that helps, but let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!

Thanks for reaching out! Yes, if you want your users to be able to submit events via the front-end of your website, without giving them access to the dashboard then you’ll need to use Community for that.

You can require users to be logged-in in order to submit events, so the general public won’t have access to do this.

Does that help answer your questions?

    Gadgetcoach,
Unfortunately this isn’t currently possible without some customizations to the template files, along with some custom javascript. If you feel comfortable doing some coding, I can get you started you in the right direction. Just let me know!

Otherwise, I would suggest that you submit this a Feature Request on our UserVoice page for inclusion in a future release of the plugin.

    Thanks!

    Doreswap,
I was able to temporarily switch your site over to the default Twenty Thirteen theme and confirmed that the calendar displayed without any issues (screenshot: http://d.pr/i/zV9M), which confirmed to me that this is a conflict with the ‘Selectbox’ jQuery plugin that Classipress is using.

I was able to resolve the issue by unloading the ‘theme-scripts.js’ file and the ‘selectbox’ javascript plugin only on the Community events pages.

Everything seems to be functioning correctly now, but let me know if you continue to have issues.

    Thanks!

Thanks for confirming that this got you sorted. Since it sounds like this took care of your issue, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.

We really appreciate your support and please let us know if you need anything else in the future. If you find yourself with a few minutes and would be so kind as to give us a “Works” rating or a positive star voting on the WordPress.org repo (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar/), or even a shoutout to your followers on Facebook or Twitter, it would mean a lot to us. Thanks again for using the plugin.

    Oliver,
You should be able to edit the Role using the plugin I suggested on the previous thread.

You should be able to add the ‘upload_files’ capability and that will fix the issue. Let me know if that does the trick.

    Thanks!

    Doreswap,
It looks like that might not be the issue. Can you try deactivating all other plugins to see if the issue still persists?

    Oliver,
Yes, this is the normal behavior. You can modify the ‘Event Contributor’ role and change their access using a Role Plugin (this one is my favorite).

Give that a try and let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!

    Josh,
You could override ‘modules/custom.php’ and modify that file by adding this line after line 43: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/7534220

    Hope that helps!

NOTE: This will not prevent the ‘Additional Fields’ section from displaying, so if you only have one custom field, you might want to hide that section with CSS.
