i’m confused… do i HAVE to use community events for member submissions??

i don’t want joe public to submit events… this is ONLY for our paid members, as part of their licensing agreement… but every event they submit should be VISIBLE/searchable by joe public…

so do i have to use community events to achieve that??
or is pro sufficient?

Thanks for reaching out! Yes, if you want your users to be able to submit events via the front-end of your website, without giving them access to the dashboard then you’ll need to use Community for that.

You can require users to be logged-in in order to submit events, so the general public won’t have access to do this.

hi. yes, that does answer my question 🙂
not the answer i was hoping for… but, it’s an answer!
so, what if i am not concerned about the dashboard… as lower capability users, they won’t have access to anything administrative anyway… so, why would it be an issue for them to submit events that way? I think i’m missing a piece of the puzzle.

Having a nice front-end form is just more user friendly for the end user. If you’re not worried about that and want to give them access to create new Events from the dashboard (instead of just visiting a submission form on your website), then you don’t need Community.

ahh. ok, so there ARE options 🙂 still not sure exactly what we want… just happy to know we have options. Thank you. likely a lot less work at our end to just buy the extras…
