ParticipantThank you for isolating this further.
I should mention that this issue is not just affecting The Events Calendar nor the admin menu, it is affecting everything, every page, on your site. Your server is saying that necessary WordPress files are missing. Try visiting this URL and you will get a 404:
http://phangancalendar.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.12.4
I was hoping that reinstalling WordPress would restore that missing file along with all of the others, but clearly it has not.
While this is not an issue with The Events Calendar, I still want to do what I can to help you get this working.
Can you view your site via FTP or your websites hosts file manager? If so can you try navigating to the file mentioned above, once you find the WordPress directory which will contain a folder called /wp-includes/ open that up. Then go to/ js/jquery/and look for a file called “jquery.js”. Is this present on your site?
- If that file is present contact your website host and ask them why it is showing a 404 on the frontend of your website. Typically this is something a website host will be able to help you figure out and fix, because there are countless reasons why it might be showing a 404 and all of them have to do with the host configuration.
- If the file is not present you should still contact your website host. Ask them why installing and reinstalling WordPress is not adding the necessary files like that one. Any host that supports WordPress should be able to help you with this.
Does that all make sense?
Cheers!

ParticipantExcellent work isolating this!
It’s strange that it is limiting the Organizer for you, and yet that rule is intended to isolate file uploads.
In a perfect world I’d like to create a whitelist parameter at the bottom of that screen that allows an image to be uploaded just for the Community Events form. Do you think that could be done?
If I am understanding this feature correctly the four parameters I would add would be:
- organizer
- venue
- event_image
- EventImage
If the URL accepts a wildcard character I would use this url:
http://dcbydesignblog.com/events/community/*
If it does not accept wildcards then you certainly want to add this:
http://dcbydesignblog.com/events/community/add/
However, you will probably face the same issues on the edit pages. Each page has its own unique URL. In light of this common problem typical firewalls accept wildcards, some even accept more complex patterns. Since I can not find any public documentation on this feature of WordFence I am not exactly sure what works in there.
Did that work?

ParticipantHowdy Staci,
I would love to help you with this.
I am seeing those errors on your site as well, they are for all resources on the website, including those loaded by your theme. It would seem something on the site is forcing everything to HTTP instead of HTTPS.
If you go to WP-Admin > Settings > General, what does your Site URL and Home URL show? Do they both begin with HTTPS? If not try changing them to begin with HTTPS, hit save. Did that fix it?
Thank you for sharing your system information! My second suspect after trying the above would be W3 Total Cache. Could you try clearing its cache, then testing to see if the errors to go away? If the same errors are still present the next thing to try would be fully deactivating this plugin. Unlike most plugins you can’t just click deactivate, you have to go through a few steps first. After following those steps to deactivate W3, is the site working now?
If none of the above worked we will need to test if a conflict is happening with any other plugin. This guide walks you through how to test for a conflict, and then identify what is conflicting.
Does that all make sense?
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy Heather,
It would be my pleasure to assist with this.
You actually can embed the calendar anywhere on the internet that accepts HTML. You can do this by inserting an iframe into the page and pointing it towards the calendar. This might not be the solution you are looking for though. It will require you to setup a WordPress website and install the calendar. You might also wish to modify the theme used by WordPress to make the calendar look at its best embedded elsewhere. While this is totally possible, it will require some time and someone knowledgeable in setting up and modifying WordPress.
Does that answer your question?
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy Jignesh,
I would love to help you figure this out! Would you mind logging in first so I can verify your support access? Or, if you do not have a license for any of our premium plugins (each includes a year of support access on these forums) then do not forget about the free support you can get on WordPress.org: The Events Calendar . We even check those forums once each week and provide as much support as we can for free.
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy Michelle,
I would love to help you with this.
I am sorry this was not clear in the email you received. You can download the zip from this website. Click on My Account in the upper right, then Downloads. From there you can download the zip file and install it. It sounds like you are already familiar with installing zip plugin files, but if not this article walks you through it.

ParticipantHowdy Lindy,
Good questions. I would love to help you find a solution for this.
I noticed the headings at the top of the list has changed. They are now: Title, Author, Event Categories, Tags, Recurring, SEO, Readability, Start Date, End Date. Is there a way to edit what is shown here?
You definitely can. In the upper right corner of that screen you will see “Screen Options”. Click this and uncheck any columns you don’t want visible.
Also, I’m not sure if the two are related, but at the top of the page it says: “Pssst! Looking for the filters? They live in a separate plug-in now.” What does this mean and is this something I should download?
The Screen Options is actually a universal WordPress feature. I don’t know why yours changes all of the sudden, but it could be any plugin you’ve installed that altered them.
The filters that are mentioned in that message are a separate free plugin. It allows you to do more than just show/hide columns, it allows you to do complex filtering of the list. Say you want to only show events with a start date greater than ____, or only events in the category ____, the plugin mentioned in that message allows you to do this.
Does that all make sense? Will that work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy dlmwebdevelopment,
Thanks for giving the latest version a test. I would love to help you figure out the “Are you sure you want to do this?” error.
I just tested adding a new organizer via the Community organizer via that form to make sure there is no bug in our plugin. I tried:
- Adding an event and organizer as an admin
- Adding an event and organizer as a subscriber
- Adding an event and organizer as an anonymous user
- Adding an event and organizer with Events Calendar Pro disabled
In every case I was able to add the new organizer, no error was shown.
Have you done any modifications to the calendar, such as inserting a code snippet into your theme’s functions.php ? If so could you try removing or otherwise disabling those temporarily, then retesting. Does that fix things? If so what did you remove/disable?
If you have not done any modifications we will need to test if a “conflict” is happening, and if so narrow it down so we can find a fix for it. This guide walks you through how to test for a conflict, and then identify what is conflicting. I noticed that you are running WordFence. You might start with disabling that plugin. While it has many awesome features, in the past some of them have altered how WordPress is intended to work. Thus is has at times broken the WordPress API, thus causing strange errors in other plugins.
Does that all make sense? Can you give those steps a whirl?
Cheers!

ParticipantThank you Shannon for giving that a thorough try. I am sorry to hear the problem is spreading!
Could updating to the latest wordpress version have done this?
It certainly could, it would just be extremely rare. Our plugin is frequently tested on the latest versions, so it’s not that the plugin is incompatible with that version of WordPress. However, when updating WordPress, or even a plugin/theme, it is possible for the download to get corrupted. When this happens it will install a corrupted version and cause strange issues.
Thank you for sharing your system information at the outset! I notice that it says you are running WordPress 4.3.1. Is that accurate? Did you revert back to that version? The current version of WordPress is 4.6.1. If I were you I would actually try upgrading to 4.6.1 again. The simple act of upgrading might fix this. Or if you are already on 4.6.1 and your system information was just altered, would you mind going to yoursite.com/wp-admin/update-core.php and clicking “Re-install now” ? WordPress itself will advise you to make a backup before updating or reinstalling, and that’s not a bad idea to do first just to be extra safe.
Cheers!

ParticipantExcellent! I am happy they provided you with a better solution. I tried a few things but my unfamiliarity with their code was making it extremely difficult to find some good CSS for their theme, and so I just shared something that would only modify our plugin.
Please let us know if you ever need anything else.

ParticipantHowdy Saane,
I would love to assist here.
Basically your menu system, which possibly comes from your theme, is using some CSS to make sure it always appears on top. It is very effective, and so it appears over top the datepicker.
There would be two options to fix this:
- Correct the CSS within your theme to not always appear on top. Specifically .menu-panel-wrapper should not specify it’s position and .menu-panel should be a z-index of 9 or less. You might need to contact the theme author if you are unfamiliar with modifying CSS.
- Or you can add some padding for the datepicker with the following CSS. This will add more padding between the calendar and the menu, so that the datepicker can popup and still be visible.
div#tribe-events-content-wrapper { margin-top: 135px; }Does that all make sense? Will one of those work for you?
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy Alex,
You will need to inspect the return of $fieldset_meta to determine your field names. If you have a PHP debugger throwing a breakpoint in there an examining the variable would give you the list. If you do not have a debugger you could add a var_dump after the third line:
var_dump($fieldset_meta);And that will list each of the field names for your site.
I wish I could just give you the list, but the field names will be specific to your site. It might just be “telephone”, or it might be “telephone7” or something like that. So the best way to get the list is to do what I’ve outlined above. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantHowdy James,
I wish we did have a lovely bookings solution, but right now we do not. For the foreseeable future our calendar will be focused on Events and Event Management. When we have more time available/fewer things on our roadmap, we will certainly consider a bookings plugin again.
I wish I had better news for you. Does that answer all your questions?
Cheers!
