ParticipantObjects at the top of the add/edit event page such as permalink, title and more are missing after upgrading to Event Calendar Pro (then fixing my memory errors thanks to your guidance).
I’ll attach an image that should make it clear.

ParticipantMore detail: as the page loads the title field is visible briefly, the visual editor buttons don’t appear at all.
I have tried disabling recently installed plug-ins including Events Cal Pro. Still the editor doesn’t load right anymore.
I recently upgraded wordpress as well, but this problem existed just prior to updating wordpress.

ParticipantAlso Recurrence field isn’t loading as you see in this image:
After activating EC Pro, Recurrence worked and add/edit worked. Not sure what has caused them to stop loading properly.

ParticipantHowdy Shannon,
It would be my pleasure to assist with this.
This looks very much like a conflicting plugin or theme. In order to proceed we should test if a “conflict” is happening, and if so narrow it down so we can find a fix for it. This guide walks you through how to test for a conflict, and then identify what is conflicting. Once we know what is conflicting it becomes possible to research possible fixes. Sometimes it’s as simple as changing a setting.
What does that test tell us?
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Brooke thanks for the steps.
I’ve taken all the steps and the add/edit interface is still broken.
Switched to TwentySixteen, deactivated all plug-ins but Event Calendar and cleared cache.
I even logged in with a browser I don’t use, Edge, and this screenshot is from that. The one thing that did change is that the admin section CSS was off a bit due to a relatively new plugin called Social Integration Version 0.8.2.2 | By Hamza Alayed. Could it have permanently changed something?
Could updating to the latest wordpress version have done this?

ParticipantI now notice it’s affecting the front end as well. The Slider doesn’t slide, shows only 1 image. The Footer is unformatted as well. This is confusing!

ParticipantThank you Shannon for giving that a thorough try. I am sorry to hear the problem is spreading!
Could updating to the latest wordpress version have done this?
It certainly could, it would just be extremely rare. Our plugin is frequently tested on the latest versions, so it’s not that the plugin is incompatible with that version of WordPress. However, when updating WordPress, or even a plugin/theme, it is possible for the download to get corrupted. When this happens it will install a corrupted version and cause strange issues.
Thank you for sharing your system information at the outset! I notice that it says you are running WordPress 4.3.1. Is that accurate? Did you revert back to that version? The current version of WordPress is 4.6.1. If I were you I would actually try upgrading to 4.6.1 again. The simple act of upgrading might fix this. Or if you are already on 4.6.1 and your system information was just altered, would you mind going to yoursite.com/wp-admin/update-core.php and clicking “Re-install now” ? WordPress itself will advise you to make a backup before updating or reinstalling, and that’s not a bad idea to do first just to be extra safe.
Cheers!

ParticipantOk I must have upgraded wordpress just after opening this ticket.
I tried re-installing it. No luck.Another possible hint, I had said the front end site footer wasn’t formated, but actually its the WP admin menu bar loading under the footer and without styling, please see my page here and scroll to the bottom http://phangancalendar.com/. I hope this could help point to something that might be broken…

ParticipantHere’s a screenshot of the admin menu loading under the frontend site footer

ParticipantThank you for isolating this further.
I should mention that this issue is not just affecting The Events Calendar nor the admin menu, it is affecting everything, every page, on your site. Your server is saying that necessary WordPress files are missing. Try visiting this URL and you will get a 404:
http://phangancalendar.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.12.4
I was hoping that reinstalling WordPress would restore that missing file along with all of the others, but clearly it has not.
While this is not an issue with The Events Calendar, I still want to do what I can to help you get this working.
Can you view your site via FTP or your websites hosts file manager? If so can you try navigating to the file mentioned above, once you find the WordPress directory which will contain a folder called /wp-includes/ open that up. Then go to/ js/jquery/and look for a file called “jquery.js”. Is this present on your site?
- If that file is present contact your website host and ask them why it is showing a 404 on the frontend of your website. Typically this is something a website host will be able to help you figure out and fix, because there are countless reasons why it might be showing a 404 and all of them have to do with the host configuration.
- If the file is not present you should still contact your website host. Ask them why installing and reinstalling WordPress is not adding the necessary files like that one. Any host that supports WordPress should be able to help you with this.
Does that all make sense?
Cheers!
