    You are so welcome!

Thank you for the example URLs. That makes a lot of sense now. If you go to WP Aadmin > Events > Settings, and scroll down to “Single event URL slug”, I bet you it will be set to “%tribe_events_slug%”. Change it to “event”, and click save. If it is already set to event, mind changing it to “event-test” and click save, to see if that fixes it? If that did fix it, changing it back will probably permanently fix the problem.

Ahh perfect! Sometimes the simplest solution is the answer. That’s great. You are very welcome. Just let us know once you have had a chance to test if that fixed it.

    Howdy maplecreekdigital,

I am happy to answer your questions.

I have it posted elsewhere, but can anyone tell me if the solution found in (https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/reoccuring-events-out-of-control/) takes care of the duplicated recurring events that I’m seeing?

It is likely that the latest 3.5.1 update will prevent any future duplicate events from being created. I do not believe it will have any effect on past ones though.

Regarding your second reply, that is unfortunately a but that I was just able to reproduce on my test systems. I am very sorry! That is no good at all. I talked it over with my manager and we are attaching a the highest priority to this bug, we want to get it fixed in the next release if possible. That said this problem can be averted right now by going into WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks, and changing the option to anything other than “Default”. Would that work for you in the mean time?

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks!

    Howdy kenmoorhead,

That is no good. I have loooked into this, and my gut feeling is that we are dealing with a theme issue, possible some theme overrides that are not compatible version 3.5 of the plugin.

Would you mind running through some diagnostic steps for me to confirm? First, could you try temporarily activating the default 2013 theme, and seeing if the issue persists.

If disabling the theme fixes it, we have narrowed the issue down to a theme conflict. Do you have any theme overrides for the Events Calendar? If so could you try disabling them by renaming your [themename]/tribe-events/ folder to ‘tribe-events-bak’. Did that fix it?

If the issue persists in the default 2013 theme, then we have a different set of debugging steps. Please keep the 2013 theme enabled, and also disable any plugins other than the ones from Modern Tribe to see if that fixes it. If it does, please try reenabling the plugins one at a time until the issue resurfaces. When it does resurface, can you let me know which plugin caused that to happen?

Thanks! Let me know if that helps isolate the problem, and what we have isolated it to. Of, ir I can answer any other questions I would be glad to. Cheers!

    Howdy njainb,

Using our Community Events addon you are able to accept events from registered users in the community. You could create a unique category for each user, and request that they each only submit events to their category. That would allow you to have a separate calendar view for each of their events, and one combined view for all of them.

Example of an event category page. Imagine if this was named “UserA” And only contained events submitted by that user.

Would that option work for your needs? Did I understand and answer your question? If not please let me know, and clarify any areas of your needs that I did not understand. Thanks!

    Howdy rosspub,

We have extensively tested recurrence in the new release as we added a few features. It is definitely working for most everyone else. While we have had a couple of bug reports here and there about smaller things regarding recurrence, nothing like this. We did change how the admin Add Event dialog behaved a little bit, perhaps that explains why you are not see the “light box”?

To be honest I am not completely clear about what you mean. What are you referring to by light box? Are you referring to the popup box that happened when you were editing a recurring event, and prompted you to save these changes for all occurrences, this one, etc. That box has been done away with in the new release in favor of a more straightforward edit behavior, that can be accessed right from the edit events page.

I do not understand what you are referring to regarding the slug either. Do you have an example URL I could look at? Perhaps that will help clarify. Any extra information you can give us will be great. We can not fix a problem that we are unable to find or see for ourselves. Thanks!

Amy, it sounds like your issue is unique. Would you mind opening up a topic specifically for it so we can help you there? In this forum we try and stick to one specific issue and generally customer per thread, as we have found that it helps get you better answers and faster responses. Thank you as well! Unfortunately our forum software does not allow me to split your topic off, or else I would have done this myself. 🙁

    Howdy cnh,

Unfortunately that is not an option. However, that is something that even I have wanted to see. Personally I think it might make the most sense to simply have the images online and you can simply link them via URL field. You can recommend features like this here.

Naturally, it takes a little bit of time after a feature suggestion is made for it to become popular and then get implemented. Sometimes it never becomes popular. If you are good with PHP and are interested you could add this functionality to our existing importer. That can be found in: public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lib/io/csv/

I hope that helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can answer or assist you with regarding this. If not, mind marking this topic answered? Thanks!

    Hello again,

What happens when you try those three diagnostic tests I outlined? Can you please give me the result for each? Regarding number two, would you mind leaving that box checked for now until the problem is resolved. It could be useful for debugging.

If none of those three steps manage to fix one of your events, then would it be possible to get an admin login for your WordPress install so that I can login and try creating a test event myself and playing around a little bit? You can post the login credentials here by checking the “set as private reply” box, which will hide them from the public. If you are willing to give an admin login, would you also give your permission for me to temporarily enable/disable plugins, and switch themes? That is fine if not, but the more freedom I have the easier it will be to see if I can find the problem.

I should note a disclaimer too: Before giving us access please make sure that you are completely satisfied with your backups. While we have never accidentally or otherwise damaged a site while performing simple diagnostic tests like the ones I intend to, it is always better to be safe than sorry. We can not offer you any recompense if something in your WP install does get broken. Please make sure that you have full backups that can restore your site to the present state just in case.

    Howdy Sean,

I was unable to produce that result on a testing server running a clean install, nor on our example demo site. You can test the demo site here: http://wpshindig.com/events/upcoming/?action=tribe_list&tribe_paged=1&tribe-bar-date=2014-01-01&tribe-bar-search=meetup

Are you able to produce the problem on our demo site? Try as I might I have been unable to in any of the testing servers I have tried. Please let me know. Thanks!

    Howdy again activision,

Thanks for running those tests. It would definitely appear that you are experiencing an issue with WooCommerce itself, not our addon. Since we only support our addon here I am not as much of an expert on WooCommerce issues, just our ticketing solution. The true experts can be found over on the WooCom support forums.

I did google your issue just to see if anything stood out as the problem. I can not say for sure, but maybe one of these threads on those forums is a good place to start looking for a solution:

I hope that helps you find a solution. Cheers!

The main thing it does is it moves the WooTickets purchase area from below the Event Details box to above it. It looks like someone at sometime added it to create a small visual customization. If you are currently happy with how the Single Events page looks, you should be fine to just leave that code removed.

You are very welcome. Let me know when this issue is completely resolved for you, then we can mark this topic answered.

I am sorry, I missed that part of your post, Sean. I do see what you are talking about in IE9. I am glad you pointed this out. We must have missed it when we did our testing in IE9. I will certainly file a bug report. Unfortunately IE9 is the only browser left that we support that does itself support the HTML History API so we have to put together quite a few workarounds to support it.

To be honest I think this is going to be a bit of a lower priority issue since it is mostly cosmetic and only affects one browser. Clicking Next/Prev continues the current search, it just causes the search fields to reset to being blank, so you would need to retype your query if you are going to modify it. I can not say for sure when it will be released. If we had unlimited time and resources it would definitely be in our next release. Alas of course we do not so we have to prioritize fixes based on many users they affect and how big of a deal it is.

Ahh, thanks for the update Grégoire. If I understand you correctly when you remove the code that you mentioned in your original post (that you found in your functions.php file) everything works without errors. If you did not add that code yourself, then the code is completely unnecessary for you site. You should just remove it, and thus avoid any errors that you are seeing. With the errors gone it seems like your site is now working perfectly and thus your problem is fixed. Does that make sense?
