    Hello Garrett!

Thanks for helping us out with the beta.

On the upgrade I somehow lost all my post type specific settings for tribe_events with other plugins (Admin Columns and WordPress SEO).

That is interesting. We will keep an eye out for behaviors like that.

I noticed the venue location no longer collapses on selection of a venue. I understand why a user might want it displayed after selection, to ensure info is correct. But in the case of campuses where venues/classrooms are very defined this could lead to a lot of unnecessary modification and duplication of data.

I am not able to replicate this. Which page are you on? I tried it from WP Admin > Events > Add Event. I also tried it from the Community Events submission page. In both instances selecting an existing venue caused the menu to disappear. It might also be a browser issue, which browser are you using?

Thanks for the reports! We definitely deprecated a lot. Most of it was renaming classes so that we have a uniform convention, and to pave the way for automated testing.

    Cheers!

    Howdy superbigcat,

I would love to help you with that. We actually have a tutorial for this situation: Altering or removing headings on calendar views. It sounds like that’s exactly what you are looking for to change the titles.

Some SEO tools allow you to add meta data to custom post type archive pages. You should double check if your tool allow this. If so the custom post type “tribe_events” is the event list pages, and that will let you add meta data. If your tools do not allow you to add meta data, then you can do so with a little programming. This snippet is for modifying the title element on each page, you could easily modify it to add a meta tag to wp_head instead if you know programming.

Does that all make sense? Did one of those options work for you?

    Cheers!

    Howdy Nicholas!

I’d love to help you with that. That is intriguing. It is unheard of for event to disappear on their own. However, there are some possibilities that could perhaps cause this to happen unintentionally:

    1. Your server administrator or host had to restore a backup of the server from before the events were created.
    2. Someone deleted the events, perhaps a malicious party who has gained access to one of your administrator’s accounts.
    3. The events are simply hidden. Have you checked your drafts folder, the trash, pending review? Since WordPress hides those from the default view, if an event has a status like Pending Review it can simply be hard to find.

Do any of those sound like the problem?

    Cheers!

    Howdy Mama Mia,

It sounds like the zip file you downloaded might have been corrupted. It’s also possible that uploading it the way you did had some side effects. Could you try the following? I think it will fix things:

    1. Download the zip file from this website to your computer, by going to My Account  > Downloads in the upper right here. Then click the Download button for 3.9.3.
    2. Go to your website’s WP Admin, then click Installed Plugins, and click ‘Delete’ for The Events Calendar PRO.
    3. Click Add New (WP Admin > Plugins > Add New)
    4. Next to the Add Plugins heading is a button called “Upload Plugin”, click this.
    5. Using the form find the zip file you downloaded in step 1 on your local computers, and install that file.
    6. Now try activating the plugin again.

Did that work? Please let me know if you have any questions along the way. 🙂

    Cheers!

Thanks for the update Pasquale! I think I understand. Since Brian has already responded I will just defer to his response.

Usually we strive to keep each topic to a single issue. As you have marked the original issue from this topic resolved, and Brian is doing a great job of helping you in the other one, I am going to archive this topic.

    Thanks for posting!
