Great question, jbusciglio! The best way to do that is to 1) use a child theme for edits to your theme’s functions.php (http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes#Using_functions.php) and 2) use template overrides for changing files for our plugin.

Complete details on best practices for those are found in our Themer’s Guide, linked in the sidebar. You may also find our Technical Documentation handy.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi, yaguare. Great question!

This is done by disconnecting the current site in your account here: https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/license-keys/

Please see this tutorial for a step-by-step walkthrough of the process: https://theeventscalendar.com/finding-your-pro-license-key-re-downloading-the-plugin/#key_disconnect

    Hope that helps!

    Hi, sonaros. Great question!

This functionality is not baked in to the plugin, but there are several way that folks have found to make this happen. Have you had a chance to search through the forums?

This is something that we plan to look into once we get to the point in the 3.x lifecycle that we start adding features. If you’d like to request it, we’d be grateful if you’d head over to our User Voice forum and vote: https://tribe.uservoice.com/

    Thanks!

Hi, wmglennosborne. Our devs have a new snippet for you to drop into your theme’s functions.php: https://gist.github.com/jazbek/7442734

Would you mind trying it out and letting us know how it goes? Thanks!

Hi, Jim. Were you able to try that code snippet? If so, did it work for you?

    Thanks!

One more thing, markappeal– Here’s another snippet of code to try to resolve the slider issue in case that hasn’t been resolved: https://gist.github.com/jazbek/7442734

Please let us know if that does the trick!

That’s a tricky one, ausagventures. We’re set up to offer guidance and help you through doing these things on your own, but that’s about the limit of what we’re able to provide.

If you’re having trouble working through the steps in the Themer’s Guide, I’d be happy to share with you a list of freelancers that we can vouch for. Any of them should be able to get you back on track in a jiffy.

Hi, again, jodahministries! 🙂 Thanks for all your questions and putting them in separate threads. That’s really helpful for us!

The default visual editor for WP uses TinyMCE, and our plugin is fully compatible with the built-in visual editing functionality. Is there any particular issue you’re having?

Also, I’m a little worried when you say that “the built-in editor does not allow for WYSIWYG editing”. Would it be possible for you to post your System Info, found in the black box at the bottom of the Help Tab of the Events Calendar Settings page, so I could get a better idea of what’s going on with your installation?

    Thanks!

    Hi, jodahministries. Great question!

This is the first I’ve heard of this behavior with the type of fairly basic HTML that you’re using (http://www.jodahministries.org/events/). Is there anything that you know of that triggers the disappearance?

Is it possible that this is a result of a conflict with your theme or one of your plugins? Have you had the opportunity to follow our normal troubleshooting steps of disabling all other plugins and reverting to one of the default WP themes like Twenty Twelve?

    Hi, jodahministries. Great question!

I found your page here: http://www.jodahministries.org/events/ I’m not sure what you mean by adding a title, as it appears to have one in the my browser window. Would you mind being more specific?

    Thanks!

    Hi, milcms. Great question! 🙂

If you check out our page introducing the CSV import feature, you should find all the info you need: https://theeventscalendar.com/using-the-events-calendars-csv-importer/

Please let us know if you don’t find what you’re looking for there.

    Thanks!

Hi, frankorlando. Thanks for getting in touch with your question! 🙂

I’m afraid I’m still a little fuzzy on the precise nature of your issue. It might help if you would post a link to the site where the widget is so that we can see it in action.

    Thanks!

Hi, ausagventures. Sorry that it’s hard to find. If you search for “Customizing Styles”, you’ll be brought to it. It’s from that heading to the bottom.

    Hope that helps!

Hi, markappeal. I was able to log into your site and check out your events listing. All 13 events look just fine.

Were you able to get this resolved on your own? Did it just happen after some time passed? I’d love to know in case future users are affected by this issue.

    Thanks!

Erin, were you able to revert the user privileges to what they were before. THe last time my dev checked, she wasn’t able to modify the plugin.
