Customized Functionality Without Breaking the Plugin

Any pointers, advice, documentation etc? Just want to make sure I can have core updates later without losing customizations.

Great question, jbusciglio! The best way to do that is to 1) use a child theme for edits to your theme’s functions.php (http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes#Using_functions.php) and 2) use template overrides for changing files for our plugin.
