Barry
MemberSo which versions of our plugins are you using?
Barry
MemberNo problem, happy to help 🙂

MemberHi Noel,
I was trying to edit a page and it also threw up this error, which disabling the loop seemed resolve this also.
Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback
We’ve already got this logged (it was reported a couple of days ago) but if you have time it would be extremely helpful and much appreciated if you could breakdown for us the steps you followed leading up to seeing this error.
Thanks!

MemberThe display of errors (and notices) at strict level is a helpful tool – but it doesn’t necessarily mean things are non-functional or incompatible.
In a production site of course it is a best practice to have the display of errors turned off – and in some cases (such as if they cause headers to be dispatched prematurely) having display_errors on can impact operationally in an undesirable way.
All that to say – we’re definitely aware of this situation – but it isn’t one that ordinarily should cause you any great problems so long as you turn the display of errors (through WP_DEBUG in this case) off.

MemberWould the most recent updates to our plugins happen to have cleared that up, by chance?
Barry
MemberSo there’s a Javascript error which is impeding communication with the server (and so it is unable to load event data). I know you annotated that you had tried deactivating other plugins and also switching to a default theme when you opened the thread – but can I just clarify if that helped to clear this up at all / if you were able to isolate any component – whether your theme or another plugin – the was conflicting?
Barry
MemberNo problem – it’s sounding like you’re all good here or that at least you’ve isolated it to your theme. If that’s not the case definitely let me know, otherwise I’ll close this thread in a few day’s time.
Barry
MemberAll of those options are totally possible – it’s just beyond the support we can offer to guide you through the customization, I’m afraid. You’d also need to think about how you would want it to behave if for instance you have multiple tickets, each with their own featured image, for a single event (which should it display in that case?).
Any of the following good people, or even any competent WP dev you find on a service like Elance or similar, may be able to help:

MemberAh, ok. So it sounds like you’re all good (in relation to this specific issue at least)?
August 1, 2013 at 10:55 am in reply to: Main ‘/events/’ page very slow and interacts poorly with several other plugins #58299Barry
MemberOK, if I’m understanding you correctly then it sounds like the best path forward would be using the Default Events Template and customizing it (you can learn more about the template override process here) and basically bring it into line with other “native” templates by adding those divs and other pieces of markup that it might be missing.
It’s hard for me to guide you on this one because the end goal is to make it mesh not just with your theme but a number of other plugins.
Barry
Member@tinfishworld: that URL leads to a blank document, could you try sharing it via Pastebin, Gist or a similar service?
@wwa: the suggested fixes should tide you over – you would need to create the tribe-events folder within your theme. Please see: https://tri.be/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/Thanks!
Barry
MemberIs this a development site? Would you be happy for us to log in and take a look? Do bear in mind though that, without wanting to scare you away from this idea:
* You would be responsible for backing up the site before we do this and restoring that backup if needs be
* There would be some amount of disruption with plugins being deactivated and the theme changedIs that a possibility here?

MemberI can certainly ask if something along those lines is possible – bear with me a little longer.
August 1, 2013 at 7:49 am in reply to: "Event Website" field not present in community add form #58250Barry
MemberDoes switching (temporarily) to a default theme such as Twenty Twelve resolve this? Also, does this affect all events or just those submitted via the community events form?
Barry
MemberHi Schalk,
Quite probably and we can leave this open to see if J-P or someone else can comment – but I’m afraid this would be outside the scope of support we can offer.
