ParticipantHi there,
I’ve got a copy of the latest Events Calendar plugin working on a custom theme and the calendar widget doesn’t display the next and previous links and it does not show any events at all. I know it is an issue with the theme as it works fine in 2012 but I’m not sure what it is I’ve missed out that could be causing this.
I have also tried alternative premium themes which has the same issue. Can you advise me what they might be missing at all?
Many thanks,

ParticipantHi Jen,
The first thing to try to get around a theme conflict would be to switch the Event template setting in Events > Settings > Display. Sometimes that’s all it takes. Try that and let me know how it goes. Otherwise, we’d need to take a look at your theme and test things locally but let’s see what that setting change does first.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Jonah,
Sorry, I only just noticed your reply. Thanks! I’ve tried this and still just getting the spinny icon when I click the ‘next month’ icon. http://www.highlandyouthmusic.org.uk/Any help would be much appreciated.!

MemberHi jenthomson,
Sadly Jonah has moved on to concentrate on other projects – but I will happily try to help if I can.
I visited the website at the URL you provided but couldn’t identify anywhere that the widget is in use … have you now removed it/solved this/do you need further help?

ParticipantHi Barry, Thanks for the reply! No worries, I don’t mind who helps! 🙂
No, it’s still there. It’s on this page. http://www.highlandyouthmusic.org.uk/event/feis-rois-oigridh-the-junior-feis/August 1, 2013 at 11:09 am #58307Barry
MemberSo there’s a Javascript error which is impeding communication with the server (and so it is unable to load event data). I know you annotated that you had tried deactivating other plugins and also switching to a default theme when you opened the thread – but can I just clarify if that helped to clear this up at all / if you were able to isolate any component – whether your theme or another plugin – the was conflicting?

ParticipantSwitching to TwentyTwelve makes the calendar widget work fine but is still has that javascript error. Even with all plugins deactivated apart from Events Calendar & the Pro part.
The theme I made is based on the boilerplate one.

MemberWould the most recent updates to our plugins happen to have cleared that up, by chance?

ParticipantHi Barry. I’ve updated the plugins and that problem seems to be solved. I now have an issue that the wp_nav_menu is missing on the list pages. It’s fine on the event pages and all others. I have permalinks installed. I’m now working offline so that the client can add their content.
I really need to get this cleared up today to allow time for testing. Any ideas?

ParticipantI have managed to get my latest version of the theme on the live site so you can take a look. Would you rather I start a new thread for the menu issue?
Many thanks

MemberIt would be very much preferred if you could 🙂
It makes it easier for us on a few levels and allows us to reply more quickly – and please don’t hesitate even to add multiple new threads if needed (for instance if in future you have a range of distinct problems that you need help on) – as multiple team members can help simultaneously.
(I’ll close this one in anticipation of a new thread.)
