MemberOK – I’m sorry to hear that but glad that you’ve got a working solution in place. Good luck with the rest of the project π
Barry
MemberNo problem at all π
Barry
MemberExcellent!
The other questions we can probably help with too – but can I ask you to post them in separate threads? It just helps us to keep things organized and also helps others to find answers π
Thanks again!
Barry
MemberHmm, you ought to be able to see it … is it possible some files were not uploaded / can you download a fresh copy of the plugin and reupload?

MemberHi everyone,
Right now there is not an easy way to just show the first/next recurring event and hide others when viewing events admin-side (though we do have a filter that lets you view only recurring events or hide all recurring events) – the setting you are referring to Susan applies to various front-end views instead.
It could definitely be useful though, so please do consider adding this as a feature request: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas
Thanks!

MemberOK, that’s definitely a bit annoying. I’ll get that reported and we’ll hopefully see a fix in the next maintenance release.
Thanks for reporting π

MemberHi GrΓ©goire,
That’s a different snippet from a different thread π can you try adding the one I linked to in my last reply?
(Also please note the forum isn’t very good at displaying code, if you can use a service like Pastebin or Gist that would be better – thanks!)

MemberHi again Jen,
So I think the heart of the problem is that the select element isn’t ‘wired up’ as you might expect, but the list of views is (though you’ve hidden that with a rule targeting .tribe-bar-views-list in your stylesheet).
I’ll report this for the attention of the dev team, but in the short term it might be the case that you need to hide the select element instead (and then show ul.tribe-bar-views-list and allow users to select from that instead).

MemberOK – is it going to be viable for you/your client to move ahead by switching to a pair of freshly created admin accounts?
Barry
MemberHi David – if you override single-event.php your version should live at:
wp-content/themes/YOURTHEME/tribe-events/single-event.php
Does that help?
Barry
MemberDefinitely. Can you confirm if you created a new thread for this (you don’t have to, I just don’t want to duplicate efforts if someone else is already helping with the view dropdown issue) and can you also confirm that you are indeed using the latest version of the plugin?
I know you noted as much when you created this discussion – but my memory was that this very problem was resolved with our latest releases (by the same token, is it at all possible that a caching solution means even if you are on the latest versions that older code is still being served)?
Thanks!

MemberAnd (again imperfect but possibly useful as a stopgap measure) this snippet might help mitigate the problem with 503s on affected installations.

MemberThough not perfect (it won’t work quite as expected when a real users changes the date or navigates forward/backward by ajax) this code which you could add to your theme’s functions.php file should help with the problem on a search-engine level.
Barry
MemberSean: I think the source of the problem may be as per the following thread. I’ll keep this one closed, but it may be worth monitoring:

MemberHi everyone.
We do have a fix for part of the 404 problem – please see here – however that does not encompass those 404s stemming from iCal links nor the 503 issue you described (hobodave).
I’ll definitely report those issues – and will update you with any workarounds that might help (if appropriate).
