MemberHi buzzpro,
I’m sorry you didn’t find the instructions to be clear enough. For many users this is as easy as:
* Downloading a .zip file containing Events Calendar PRO from our Downloads Page
* Visiting the Plugins → Add New → Upload admin screen and uploading it
* Let WordPress work its magic then simply activate itIs that approach viable for you?
Barry
MemberI’m not entirely clear – but if you mean you wish map view to appear on the homepage (and also show the calendar widget) that’s not really something we can offer a lot of help with.
On our WP Shindig demo site we simply use a redirect plugin to take people to the main events page and, in your case, you could set that to show map view.
There are some alternative approaches scattered through the forum but we wouldn’t necessarily recommend them and it would be a case of using them at your own risk.

MemberHi bookswarm,
You should be able to change the widget title via the widget settings in the Appearance > Widgets admin screen.
Does that help here?

MemberHi Katrina,
It looks to me like you are still using The Events Calendar 2.0.11, but have added Events Calendar PRO 3.0.5. These won’t play well together (or, at least, PRO will do nothing at all) and you should see a notice to that effect at the top of the plugin admin screen.
Can you either upgrade The Events Calendar to version 3.0.3 or, if you really need to stick with the old version, obtain a copy of Events Calendar PRO 2.0.11 and use that instead of 3.0.5? It’s very important that compatible versions are used.
Do also note (just in case you opt to stick with the older version of our plugins) that the extent of support we can offer for plugins other than the current releases is very limited.
Thanks – and I hope that gets you on track 🙂

MemberSidenote: please share code using Pastebin, Gist or a similar service and share the link! The forum doesn’t currently do a great job with code if you post it here directly.
Barry
MemberSounds like you’ve basically got the right idea (so long as you are making this change via a template override and not to core plugin files!) … can you share your code so I can see if anything jumps out as being problematic?
Barry
MemberHi grapevine,
All links to the main events page seem correct to me (with the obvious exception of the one in your menu) … can you confirm if this problem persists if you remove it, save your menu and then re-add it and save again?
Have you also tried modifying the URL for this item within the menu (ie, via the Appearance > Menus admin screen)?
Thanks!

MemberHi Miriam,
We’re happy to help but please do break these issues down into separate tickets. Let’s deal with #1 here – you could either post new threads for the other issues and we can try to progress them simultaneously or else we can see if any fix for issue #1 resolves the other problems 🙂
I see you noted that you tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default, unmodified theme: can you confirm if that resolved this and if it enabled you to identify a component such as your theme or a plugin as causing a conflict?
Thanks!

MemberThat sounds very strange indeed. In that case, can I ask you to run through our standard troubleshooting steps?
1. Please start by ensuring all of your Modern Tribe plugins are up to date and then deactivate all other plugins.
2. Next, switch to a default and unmodified theme (such as Twenty Twelve or Twenty Thirteen).
3. Test to see if the problem is resolved.
4. Assuming for the moment that does resolve things, please reactivate everything one-at-a-time, testing at each stage to see if the problem has returned.
This should (potentially) help to isolate the source of the problem. Thanks!

MemberHi David,
I’m surprised to hear that :-/
On taking a closer look at your site I can see that two different versions of the jQuery library are being pulled in and that is highly likely to be at least part of the problem here. One is sourced from ajax.googleapis.com – and this happens to be the older version – while the other is a more recent copy of the library that ships with WordPress itself.
This should not happen on a ‘stock installation’ of WordPress – and our own plugin only uses the shipped version of the library – but it’s something I would recommend resolving in the first instance before we can progress this further.

MemberHi normking – please create a new thread of your own – it helps us to help you in the quickest possible fashion and avoids confusion 🙂
@billysob: I’m not sure in this case (given the nature of your theme) that there is too much more we can do here – but do you have any further questions / are you good if we close this thread? Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Amy,
You could be right there, though my own memory is that the previous version (2.0.11) did not do this, and spinning up a copy quickly to check seems to bear that out – the Google Calendar link appears only on single event pages, not on month view – so I wonder if perhaps this was a custom generated link you had added with that version, too?
Please do consider making a feature request for this over on our UserVoice page (you may even be able to find an existing request that you can endorse) – however any solution in the interim is something we’d have to leave to you to devise.
Thanks – and sorry we can’t do more on this occasion.
Barry
MemberExcellent!
Barry
MemberHi Simon: the solution outlined here does indeed relate to the calendar widget, rather than the main events calendar.
