ParticipantMy Calendar Pro is not working properly. I had a friend help me install it, and I don’t believe this was done correctly. I tried to reinstall the Calendar plus. I watched your video that’s supposed to make the process “easy,” but the “expert” in the video didn’t bother to tell me which file (file name) I should select to unzip. I have no idea what he is talking about? I have a mac. And “several” files were downloaded into a subdirectory. What file should I be selecting to unzip. The video was very frustrating and not clear as to what file(s) I should be unzipping. Nor is there any details in the written explanation of “what” I am supposed to do. So, what file should I select to unzip from my mac download subdirectory. I need to install this plugging. Thanks!!

MemberHi buzzpro,
I’m sorry you didn’t find the instructions to be clear enough. For many users this is as easy as:
* Downloading a .zip file containing Events Calendar PRO from our Downloads Page
* Visiting the Plugins → Add New → Upload admin screen and uploading it
* Let WordPress work its magic then simply activate itIs that approach viable for you?

ParticipantThanks for the response… When I click on the download button, several files and subdirectories are downloaded to my “downloads” subdirectory. The name of the sub directory is call “the-events-calendar.” When I click an open this sub directory, many files and sub directories appear. What do I do now? Is there a specific file I am supposed to unzip? I could not figure this out by watching your video. No file or sub directory “name” was mentioned. I understand that I need to “unzip” a “file,” but what is the name of this file? What do I need to do to install this plugin to my WordPress theme? Thank you, Terry

MemberHi Terry,
Not being a Mac user I’m at a slight disadvantage here. Basically though a single .zip file is being served – a colleague tells me it may be that you have a setting activated which means ‘safe’ archives are automatically unzipped.
If so that’s specific to your machine and isn’t something we can control. Can you try simply re-zipping and uploading the plugin file?
The other thing that catches my eye is that you are referring to the-events-calendar subdirectory. If you haven’t already successfully uploaded the core plugin itself (as opposed to Events Calendar PRO, the directory name for which is normally events-calendar-pro) then you might wish to try visiting your site’s Plugins → Add New → Search page, locate The Events Calendar there and try installing it automatically.
You will only be able to do that for the core plugin, not Events Calendar PRO, but it might help you get started.
