MemberHi Kevin: we don’t provide release dates in order to avoid falsely setting expectations – partly because some items are still undergoing quality assurance and therefore may require rework following that – however we’re reaching the end of that stage and should be preparing for release shortly.

MemberHi Ed,
That would certainly explain why you’re facing this! I’m sure you can see now why we like people to take their installation back to a basic state with no other plugins and only a default, unmodified theme (partly in case of conflicts with code from other vendors, but also to detect issues resulting from customizations) – it can save a lot of time and effort 🙂
What you want to do here is possible with the calendar widget, but it’s not what the calendar widget is designed for. It would probably be more appropriate to use the list widget – which by the sounds of it provides the functionality you are after here – and, if appropriate, style it to look like the list that appears below the calendar widget (if the appearance is the reason you/your designer chose to do this).
We’ve got some great information linked to in the Useful Resources widget over on the right you might make use of – otherwise I’m afraid we’ll really need to leave the details of such a change up to you.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread – of course for anyone else experiencing this but where the cause is something other than it was for Ed please do create a new thread.
Thanks everyone!
Barry
MemberThanks Ed: for anyone else experiencing this, please do take the time to create a new thread of your own (so you can share your URL, indicate what troubleshooting steps you have completed so far, etc) and ideally also post your system information from the Events → Help admin screen 🙂
Barry
MemberFantastic! I’ll go ahead and close this thread in that case – glad you figured it out 🙂

MemberHi zengirl,
OK – so you’d probably need to set up some custom rules in that case (using one or more CSS rules following the above pattern) or else build on The Events Calendar Category Colors with a customization of your own (so that changes to category colours automatically carry across to week view.
I’m afraid we’ll have to leave the details of this to you, however – although we can provide a list of freelancers if you need someone to work through it with you?

MemberWe don’t provide dates, even estimates, simply to avoid falsely setting user expectations, particularly when – as here – you are interested in a specific fix which hasn’t yet undergone quality assurance (and so though I’m optimistic I don’t know for sure right now if it will indeed make the next release).
Can I update wordpress to 3.7 in the meantime without causing an issue?
I can’t think of any reason not to. A good practice though is to test locally or in some environment other than that of the live site – that way you can detect any problems without interrupting your service. Of course, having a full and complete backup and knowing how to restore it is also a good precaution here.
Thanks!

MemberHi verdipro – we’ve made some changes that should accommodate this scenario and it will be going through the QA process shortly. All things being equal we ought to see this in the next maintenance release, but I’m afraid I can’t offer an absolute guarantee there.

MemberIn no particular order:
WerkPress (http://www.werkpress.com) – customization based projects with minimums of $500-$800
Chris Miller (http://launchbrigade.com) – $125 consultation required before providing an estimate
Nick Ciske (http://thoughtrefinery.com/) – minimum fee depends on project type

If you need a cheaper solution, you might check out some of these listings:http://freelanceswitch.com

http://jobs.wordpress.net/Hopefully the above will help you find someone to work on your site. Good luck (and I’ll go ahead and close this thread now).

MemberHi Marlinda,
Not a stupid question at all.
Depending on where you want this to display you might override and customize a template such single-event.php and then add your paragraph in there, making use of functions like tribe_get_start_date() and tribe_get_end_date() to add the date/time information.
There are other approaches you could take, too, such as using filters (which might be handy if you want this on more than one view) – but we’ll leave you to figure out the details of what works best in your scenario.
Hope that helps!
October 29, 2013 at 9:17 am in reply to: Can’t find strings from filterbar in the translation files #73606Barry
MemberHi Michael,
You’re right: some translatable strings are missing from the .pot file. We’re regenerating that file for the next maintenance release (and I believe your other issue re weekdays will be addressed then, too) and so what I’d recommend is waiting until that point – we’re getting close! – and then submit a corrected / up-to-date translation.
Thanks!

MemberHi zengirl – The Events Calendar Category Colors is a useful tool but not one that is officially part of the Modern Tribe stable. If you want to seek help specifically in relation to that plugin (or request support for category colors within week view) it may be better to post on that plugin’s own support forum.
In basic terms though you can target events by category (in week view) using a CSS selector something like:
.tribe-grid-body div[id*="tribe-events-event-"].tribe-events-category-wordpress-meetups .hentry.vevent {}Where my example category has a slug of wordpress-meetups – you might also be interested in our Themer’s Guide which provides some insight into setting up event calendar related CSS rules.
Hope that helps!

MemberRyan, pdelite and indeed anyone interested in this issue – we very much appreciate your support here and just like you we hope to bring this well under control in the near-term.
Right now though there isn’t much we can do for you, so what I’d suggest we do is wait for the next maintenance release and re-evaluate at that point: for that reason I’ll go ahead and close this thread – but if you hit further issues once the next release arrives please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberNo problem – and good luck!
Barry
MemberSorry we can’t do more – unfortunately our resources are limited and though we’d love to be able to guide everyone through their customizations it just isn’t practical. What we can offer you though is a list of freelancers/outside developers who might be able to provide you with the extra support/dev resources you require here, if that’s of interest?
Barry
MemberI’m sorry but we don’t comment on release dates to avoid setting false expectations. That said, we are almost complete on the QA and testing phase so, vague though this sounds, it really should be soon 🙂
Let me get back to you (re your second question) – I’ll need to check with the team member heading up that particular programme.
