MemberThanks rubie31. Though I do note you already indicated in your opening post that you had tried our troubleshooting steps, can I just ask you to confirm what the outcome was?
That is, with no other plugins running and only a default, unmodified theme (such as Twenty Twelve) do you experience the same issue and/or do those steps allow you to isolate any conflicting plugin?

MemberHah! Twice in a row … no problem! Do let us know if you have any further concerns, however, and we’ll help if we can.

MemberLooks like we may have posted at approximately the same time, sugarweb, but I just wanted to ensure you saw my response to Christopher.

MemberHi Christopher,
This is a bug we recently learned of and have fixed in our development code – so as soon as the next maintenance release arrives, which should be soon, this problem ought to disappear. And, in fact, it should disappear ‘naturally’ from tomorrow onwards.
If you can tolerate it for a day, then, that should be all you need to do here – and of course we do apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.
Barry
MemberThanks everyone.
As per my response in the thread highasp just highlighted – this looks like a very transitory issue (tomorrow it should be gone) and furthermore, happily, it is something we have fixed as of the forthcoming maintenance release which should be with us shortly.
So if you can hold tight and bear the pain for a day you should find this issue resolves itself ‘naturally’ … and our next release will include a substantive fix in any case.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberEssentially, yes. Things to look at/consider in no particular order:
* You can pull in templates (like the month view) with tribe_get_view()
* Pulling in a template doesn’t guarantee that the supporting resources (Javascript, stylesheets) will be set up so you’d need to take care of this
* You might want to think over duplicate content issues (are you eliminating the main events view at /events/ ?)
* If you want to remove the /events/ slug entirely so it is never used or exposed you will need to think about how you will handle generated linksBeyond that – and any tips from the community you might find on the forum – I’m afraid you’re on your own, but good luck!
Barry
MemberI can certainly see links like you’ve described in the markup of your single event page (within the <head> element). However, I don’t believe they are being generated by our plugin – so taking things back to a basic state with no other plugins and only a default theme running would be one way to assess this.

MemberHi cmeigs: you could take the same approach we follow on our demo site and simply use a redirect plugin to take all visitors landing on the home URL to the main events URL.
Actually incorporating the calendar within the homepage/frontpage is possible but is the sort of custom development task we regrettably can’t help with.
Hope that helps!

MemberHi fknippenberg.
This issue is bound to be frustrating but should be transitory – it relates to a problem with date handling that is only exposed at certain points. So, hopefully, you will find that tomorrow it all operates as expected once more.
Added to which, we are close to releasing our next maintenance release and that will incorporate a substantive fix for this issue.
Thanks for your patience!
Barry
Member@wallyglenn, gosolutions and highasp:
So, regrettably, a bug in the way dates are handled seems to be at play here. The good news is it is transitory and normal behaviour should return as the days roll by and we enter November. Added to which, we have fixed what seems to be the underlying problem and our next release will be with us soon.
In summary then, if you can hold tight a little longer, A) this problem will naturally disappear B) our next maintenance release will arrive with a long-term fix for this issue.
Thanks for your support and patience – and apologies for the inconvenience. I would again add a polite note that you generally should avoid crashing and potentially derailing threads created by other users, however.
Based on your description I don’t actually think the above applies to you. If you are able to follow up though and provide the information requested previously (a URL where I can see the problem and your System Information from the Events → Help admin screen) that would be great.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi everyone, there definitely seems to be a problem here and I can see what at least initially looks to be a similar issue locally.
Bear with us, however, and we’ll update you as quickly as we can. Remember also that it can quickly become very confusing and frustrating when multiple voices are in the same thread, so I’d ask that if you need help specific to your installation you post a new thread of your own.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberI completely agree that we ought to be doing things in a way that works well regardless of which country or region the user is in and will get this on the bug tracker: we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Glad to hear that solution worked as an interim measure, too.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread since it sounds like this is resolved for the time being at least. Thanks!

MemberHi highfieldhall,
It may or may not be applicable, but the first thing to be aware of is that if you edit anything other than the very first event in a series then – regardless of whether you apply the update to just that instance or all (and all actually means all future instances) – it will break the chain in two or more pieces. As an example, you might start with a chain like:
* November 2
* November 9
* November 16
* November 22
* November 29And if you edit the second instance and apply the change to all you will end up with two separate chains – basically, in that example, one event by itself:
* November 2
Then a (now distinct) chain of the other event instances:
* November 9
* November 16
* November 22
* November 29Beyond that, can you A) confirm if this occurs with all other plugins deactivated and a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Twelve running and B) can you share the information from the Events → Help admin screen listed under System Information?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi rubie31,
Although I visited the URL you provided I couldn’t actually locate the main events page – can you help me out with a direct URL? It would also be great if you could provide the information from the System Information display in the Events → Help admin screen.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberIt’s hard for us to answer questions like this – simply because we don’t know what else is running in your hosting environment or how it is configured and also because the memory limit is a limit, rather than a guarantee of how much memory will actually be available.
Can you provide any more information as to what you are experiencing when the site ‘crashes’? Is it simply the so-called white screen of death, for example, or are you seeing a fatal error message or anything of that order?
Thanks!
