I’m afraid you’re going to have wait just a little longer @russkeys, we have this on the list of things to check out and will update you as quickly as we can. Have you approached the vendor of the other plugin and have they put forward any ideas? If not, that could be worth pursuing in tandem with this thread.
I’m sorry to hear that. It does look to me like they are lacking body_class() support, however, which is something they would need to attend to.
I really do sympathize, it’s not nice to be caught “in the vice” between two vendors in this way – all I can say is on our side we were and continue to be happy to help as best we can (hence offering to look at the header.php template, albeit it turned out not to be helpful as they are using a custom structure of their own) … but the reality is we need to draw a line somewhere try as we just don’t have unlimited resources.
Somewhere in that theme, though, there is a file that is producing a <body> tag and it ought to be structured something like the following example – though right now it is probably missing the body_class() element (note also the double closing bracket at the end is intentional):
<body <?php body_class() ?>>If you can find that code in your theme and update it, that’s probably a good way to go. The reason we’re not going to go ahead and ask for a copy of the theme and do this for you is:
- It’s not our code – it’s something another business produced and it’s not our responsibility to support it
- We’ve got a reasonable hypothesis here as to what the problem is and have put that forward so you/your theme vendor/a dev working on your behalf could check it out and potentially fix it and we feel that’s reasonable, given this again relates to something that is not our product
- My suspicion is that they probably do have their own “custom” implementation of body_class() (because I can see some body classes, just not the ones I would expect) – so a straight swap of their code for the standard WordPress equivalent may be problematic unless the classes applied via their custom version are set up again with body_class() … that’s far from impossible, but it is beyond what we can do for you here
So I guess at this stage there are a few options:
- If you feel fairly comfortable working with code you could take a look and see if you can get to the bottom of this without the theme vendor’s help
- You could hire a developer to help with the above, it’s likely to be a fairly short task
- You could wait a little longer and see if they start responding (perhaps they are just busy)
At this time, I hope you understand there isn’t too much more we can do for you.
You shouldn’t lose any content – occasionally though you may have to do some work in terms of restoring menus and the arrangement of widgets in the sidebar (and so we always recommend backing up first of all).
You can certainly run through those steps – my suspicion is that this will only show up with your theme, though, and so leaving that activated and deactivating other plugins (except The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO) and seeing if that makes any difference is probably a good way to go initially.

So it’s been a while without any response – I’m going to assume this is no longer a problem/that you found a solution and will close this thread. Of course if you do need any further help please don’t hesitate to open a new thread 🙂
