MemberHi Graeme,
Thanks for creating a fresh thread for this 🙂
- On visiting the URL you provided I cannot actually locate anything that is clearly a WordPress site or looks like output from The Events Calendar: can you confirm where I should be looking – and perhaps drop a direct link in here?
- In the previous thread you linked to the original poster’s theme was basically at fault. Can you follow the same troubleshooting steps (deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default theme) to try and discover if this might be the case for you, too?
- Which theme are you using – can you provide a link to its homepage?
Thanks!

MemberOK, so though I can see various classes being applied to the body element I’m not convinced it is using WordPress’s body_class() function to do so, which is the expected convention – certainly numerous classes I would expect to see are notable by their absence.
Every theme is different and since your theme is retailed commercially I can’t see the code – which makes this a little tricky – but I wonder if you could locate its header.php template (if it has one) and share the code via Pastebin, Gist or some similar service so I can see if this theory has any merit?
Thanks!

ParticipantI know you guys are busy and are doing your best to help, but could I politely request some faster assistance here? I registered this issue two weeks ago and the client is on the verge of cancelling my arrangement with them due to this problem. Sorry to push but I would really appreciate your assistance here. Thank you.

MemberGraeme: please accept my apologies. Unfortunately we are experiencing a few glitches with our forum tools – my reply shouldn’t have been marked private (and should have been visible to you as the original poster even so). Let me re-post:
OK, it looks like it has a slightly atypical structure – so working through locating the code in question via the forum will be tricky. Nonetheless at this point it seems quite likely that your theme is, in a sense, at fault here and is not using the body_class() function – that’s because:
- Numerous classes I would expect so see applied to the body element are missing
- We know this works with a standard theme that does apply body classes in the expected convention
What I’d suggest is approaching the theme author to A) confirm this is the case and B) seek their assistance in adding the body_class() call in the appropriate location.
I can absolutely appreciate your need to push for a response – it’s entirely understandable. All I can say is we’re operating as quickly as we can and in line with our stated goals – added to which, at this time every indication is that this is an issue ultimately resting with the theme rather than our plugin.
What I’d suggest then is taking this up with the theme author and try to determine (as above) is the body_class() function is not currently in use and if it can be added.
Thanks!

ParticipantOk. So the plugin worked, now it doesn’t, but lets blame the theme. Right? This is the one thing I really dislike about WordPress. Developers blame themes, themes blame developers but the customer loses.
What will most likely happen here is that we will cancel Events Calendar Pro and find a plugin that works. I’m sorry, but this plugin worked fine until your last update, now it doesn’t.
All in all a very frustrating experience. Thanks for trying to help though.

ParticipantThe theme creators are asking for a changelog. Could you please supply or point me to a full changelog? Thank you.

Member@jhonnavarro: please create a new thread of your own – jumping into other threads, though we can understand the desire to do so when the problem looks very similar to your own, ultimately can result in confusing threads where we are unable to help everyone as effectively as we would like. Thanks!
Graeme: I appreciate your frustration and I’m sorry you see this as a matter of us passing the buck – that’s not our intention. All I can do is reiterate that, based on the information in front of us, it looks like your theme may not use the WordPress body_class() function which is something we (reasonably) require themes to implement for maximum compatibility.
If that’s not the case – ie, the theme vendor has stated they do use the body_class() function to generate body classes – we’ll happily reassess this.
You can find a changelog within the readme.txt file in each plugin directory.
Let us know how you get on!

ParticipantJust to advise I am still speaking to the theme developers regarding this issue. They requested your changelog which I have supplied. I will come back to you with their official line on the matter as soon as I can. Thanks.
