MemberHi – I’m sorry to see you are hitting problems here.
Thanks also for testing with all other plugins deactivated: can I ask you to repeat that test, but also switch to a default, unmodified theme (such as Twenty Twelve / Twenty Thirteen) – does the problem still occur under those conditions?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberJohn: as above I asked a colleague to also try and replicate what you have described and unfortunately she could not, it all worked perfectly. So: if you have tried this with no other plugins (except ours) and a default, unmodified theme then let’s explore some other options:
- It’s possible this issue is environmental in nature. Though it may not be possible for you to do so (if you cannot, that’s fine, but I figured it is worth checking) I wonder if you could confirm if you can replicate the same thing in a different environment – either a hosting account with a different provider or locally, if you have a local testing setup
- It could alternatively be the case that some option or other setting stored in your database is impacting. We could confirm/eliminate this as a possible cause by creating a parallel WordPress installation in a subdirectory beside your existing one – and start off only with our plugins and nothing else (in a sense, the reverse of the steps we normally recommend)
Are either of those possible here?

MemberHi John,
I can appreciate your frustration over our inability to reproduce and solve this one and I want you to know it is a frustration we share – we want you to have a great experience with our plugins and it saddens us when customers make reports to the contrary.
I also sense you might be a little frustrated with the support experience generally – on that topic, can I just note that your previous thread was kept open for a 2 week period and was primarily closed as a piece of good housekeeping, not because we were uninterested in helping (we absolutely do want to help).
Also you should know that I originally tried this with the 2014 default theme and then noticed that you said you wanted us to test this with the Caveman Version Default Theme of 2011.
The reference to Twenty Eleven is something we have chalked down as being in need of an update. For any future support queries, at least until we can amend that text, please do note we don’t actually expect you to rigidly test against Twenty Eleven as a baseline (though doing so is also fine – but, equally, testing with Twenty Twelve/Thirteen/Fourteen is also perfect and won’t meet with any opposition on our count).
To the issue at hand:
I don’t know what your issue is in that you cannot reproduce this behavior. I think you should try it again.
I did notice also that it seems to be an issue with a new venue or organizer being imported. I tried listing events from existing venues and organizers and the issue did not show. It only showed when I added a new Facebook Event “Organization and page usernames / IDs to fetch events from” in the settings section. That might help you track this down.
I’m not sure why we are unable to replicate either, but I still cannot do so.
Following your remarks here I also added HappyMondaysAP to my list of FB pages to import from and imported the same event as you linked to – yet I did not hit up against the same problem. The venue and organizer came across perfectly.
What I’m going to do next is ask a colleague to attempt this on their own, separate, test installation – so please bear with us a little longer, I’ll update you as quickly as I can.
Thanks,
Barry

MemberHi!
I decided to give your plugin a go to after viewing the info provided on this tutorial:
http://creativeslice.com/tutorials/gravity-forms-events-calendar-submissions/
… can you please provide the variable names and values which need to be entered to set the fields accordinglyNo, I’m afraid we can’t help with customizations like this one. Please also understand that tutorial is not something we have provided, so you should really seek assistance from its author – Tim – rather than us if you’re having difficulties. Do also bear in mind we now have a plugin – Community Events – that may meet your needs nicely here.
One final thing: Does your plugin allow for multiple (personalized) calendars at user level?
It does not, at least that wasn’t a design goal. We’re always looking out for new feature requests though, so please do head over to UserVoice (using that link) and add a new request or if you can find a suitable existing one definitely add you voice to that.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi!
While we really have to leave it up to you to implement customizations you’ll probably be interested in the following:
Does that help at all?
Barry
MemberHmm, I’m sorry to hear that but unsure why it would happen.
In the first instance can you clear any filters that may have been set (via the Filters & Columns meta box just above the list of events) and see if that helps?

MemberI’m sorry to hear you’ve hit difficulties here, but thanks for updating with your findings.
Did this turn out to be a ‘natural’ consequence of using that plugin (ie was it inhibiting access in line with some or other setting) or do you think there is a broader conflict/are unsure why it happened?
Barry
MemberHi – I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties.
We’ll happily take a look at this, but can I ask you to distil the problem down to a set of steps to help us reproduce (unfortunately I’m not familiar with this plugin and I’m not sure which custom field data you might be referring to). Certainly I’m not seeing an issue with the password or link label fields being wiped, and the custom post type established by that plugin does not appear to support conventional custom fields, but perhaps you are referring to something else?
Thanks for clarifying!

MemberHi! Please note we don’t provide support over weekends, hence the delay.
I logged in (thanks for the credentials) and entered the license key we have on record for you, which seemed to stick, and went on to update Events Calendar PRO to 3.4. Everything seemed to work smoothly – so I’m not sure why you were hitting problems, but can only guess the key was incorrect (you can review the key I entered and see if that matches what you were using).
At any rate, I hope that helps and let us know if there are any other problems with this.

MemberThanks for clarifying.
I asked a colleague to test this out on their own installation and, like me, they found so long as the user editing the event has the same API key as the original author then the connection with Eventbrite (and the related form) remained.
One possibility then is a conflict – deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default, unmodified theme then repeating the test would be a good way to isolate such an eventuality.
Another possibility is that you / the users who are editing these events are doing something notably different to what we have tried. If the above steps don’t reveal anything can you detail exactly what process you/they are following (down to the detail of noting what is actually being edited).
Last but not least, in addition to both of the above, can you post your system information as detailed in the Events → Help admin screen?
Thanks!

MemberThat’s a great question.
That setting is actually a WordPress setting (visit Settings → General → Time Format) which could indeed be worth testing out here. Can you try toggling it?
Barry
MemberOK, thanks!
However, that is a commercial theme and so we cannot download it directly. Can you share a link so I can download a copy?

MemberSure – ok, that does sound a touch different to what I’m seeing.
Let us know the results, if it is something on our end we’ll happily do what we can to assist but it’s sounding perhaps like a conflict with another component, though I’m sure it will become apparent after talking to the Woo team 🙂
Barry
MemberI’ll go ahead and close this thread (as it’s been a while), but please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed if you require assistance with anything else. Thanks!
