    It no longer exists 🙂

I think the posts/threads you were reading probably related to an earlier incarnation of the plugin – you get get a sense for the present structure by looking through our Themer’s Guide and, of course, the template files themselves.

The views you are probably going to be interested in all live within the PRO plugin’s views directory:

    • pro/widgets/mini-calendar-widget.php
    • pro/widgets/mini-calendar/grid.php
    • pro/widgets/mini-calendar/… (and there are various other templates in this directory, too)

    Does that help at all?

    Hi Bryan,

I’m sorry you’re facing difficulties here. Can you give me an indication of how many events you are managing and what proportion might be recurring events?

There have been a few problems and we did release a cleanup plugin to help deal with it, but since it sounds like you can’t get things working with 3.5.2 at all it may not be practical to use it just yet (but please take a look at the relevant blog post anyway).

Are you seeing any relevant errors in your error log?

    Hmm, sorry you’re facing difficulties.

What you’re describing should already be accommodated and if I test this out locally with some CSV that includes 3 events with the same name – but on different dates -they are indeed created separately.

Would it be possible to take a peak at your CSV data (perhaps you could share via a Dropbox link, or via Pastebin, or similar)?

    Thanks!

Hi – sorry you’re hitting difficulties.

There is a syntax error in there created by a piece of JS that looks like it belongs to jQuery Lightbox For Native Galleries v3.2.2 … that could be throwing a spanner in the works of anything else that depends on JS.

With that in mind, could you try deactivating that plugin in the first instance and see if that resolves the problem and if necessary extend this process to run through our complete troubleshooting steps:

    • Ensure your event plugins are up-to-date
    • Deactivate all other plugins
    • Switch to a default, unmodified theme
    • Now test and see if the problem still persists

Ideally of course we might be able to determine that it’s simply the result of the syntax error in the Lightbox plugin’s script, so trying that first is definitely the way to go.

Let me know how you get on!

    Hi – great question!

Right now that isn’t quite possible without a little customization work – or at least a little creative management – however our Filter Bar plugin in tandem with the free, core The Events Calendar plugin would get you pretty close – especially if you used a creative workaround such as identifying cities by setting appropriate tags.

And, of course, we are always interested in any new feature requests you might post 🙂

I hope that helps, but please don’t hesitate to let me know if there is anything else we can assist with.

This is all pretty puzzling. We have historically had some problems when users use default permalinks instead of pretty permalinks – even so I can’t replicate what you are describing – and recurring events for instance have a URL with the following pattern:

http://www.example.com/?tribe_events=slug-name-yyyy-mm-dd (where the last segment is an actual date)

Clearly that is not the case for you and I’m unsure why. At this point, let’s take things right back to basics as I want to ensure we haven’t missed a crucial step:

I tested it with the 2011 wordpress theme and got the same error.

To be absolutely sure, can I ask you to confirm that this was a completely unmodified copy of Twenty Eleven and that you also deactivated any other plugins that were running? Additionally, can you provide a copy of your System Info as provided in the Events Help admin screen and perhaps give me a summary of who your web host is / any other details that might be useful (if it is a Windows server for instance).

    Thanks!

OK – so after using the snippet did you get the number of recurring events down to a lower number? How many are still on the system?

I don’t know of any particular problems with Bluehost as such, but it is of course always true that – depending on the amount of content and how popular your site is – you need a suitable hosting package to meet the site’s needs.

If you are still hitting the issue with MAX_JOIN_SIZE and can’t correct this it would definitely be worth approaching Bluehost and asking for their help – certainly if it turns out you are not permitted to increase it then that could be a real difficulty, here.

We’re not going to be able to give you a timeline for this one, I’m afraid – and generally we don’t make any guarantees about the release date of any particular feature or fix: we are actively looking into it, though, and I’d hope to see changes here sooner rather than later 🙂

    Thanks again!

OK – your mention of troubles since last updating makes me wonder if you are being hit by a bug we created a specific fix for. Can I ask you to review this blog post and if appropriate try out the plugin linked to from there and see if that helps with this?

If that doesn’t seem relevant, or does but doesn’t resolve things, can you describe exactly what you see when you visit the widget area (a screenshot – which you could share by uploading it to Dropbox or some similar service, or even your own website – would be awesome here)? I’d also love to know how many events you currently have on your site.

Thanks – I’m sure we can get to the bottom of this 🙂

    Hi – great question!

I have to stress first of all that in building on top of an ecommerce engine like WooCommerce we aim to actually interfere in its operation to the minimum extent possible.

What you’re describing really sounds like a facet of WooCommerce and I’d encourage you to approach them if you need further help here – but you may well be interested in this approach to automating completion of orders which originates in their documentation.

I hope that helps – and let me know if we can assist with anything else 🙂

    Hi Craig:

    Sorry you’re hitting difficulties here.

I can’t actually replicate the scenario you described – but here’s what I tried, just in case it varies somehow from the steps you ran through:

    • Created a series of events recurring weekly for 6 weeks
    • Edited the third in sequence (edit single – breaking it out of the sequence)
    • Added a featured image and hit update
    • Only that instance – now a standalone event – had the featured image that I just selected
    • The subsequent and previous events from the original chain of events did not have a featured image

Is that different in any way from what you tried? I realize also that you noted having tried deactivating all other plugins: can you repeat that step and additionally switch to a default, unmodified theme at the same time and see if you can still replicate this problem (just in case it actually is the result of a conflict)?

Thanks! Let me know how you get on 🙂

It would definitely be worth (temporarily) disabling these – copy and paste the snippet somewhere so you can restore it, but remove it from functions.php and rename the tribe-events subdirectory within your theme to something like do_not_use – then give it a whirl and see if it changes anything 🙂

Only too happy help – best we could in the circumstances at least – and I wish you luck with your endeavours re MapQuest 🙂

I’ll go ahead and close this thread, as ever please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed if anything else crops up.

    Likewise!

What I’ll do at this point is close this thread. However, what we strive to do is re-open threads like this one where a bug was reported and post an update (once we’ve got something to report, re a fix, etc) – so if you monitor this or are anyway subscribed by email you should be made aware of the fix further down the road.

Thanks once again for your patience and support 🙂

No problem at all – and sorry for the inconvenience.

I’ll close this thread for the time being but as usual we’ll strive to re-open and post an update once a fix is in hand (or once we have something substantive to update you with, at any rate).

Thanks once again for your support and patience 🙂
