OK – unfortunately it’s tooled to dispose of all events data rather than just recurring events – but if that’s not an insurmountable problem it will hopefully get you where you need to be 🙂

    I see.

From what I gather, the 5.x branch of Safari is a comparatively old one and this may explain why we couldn’t replicate the problem.

Is it possible for you to upgrade? Unfortunately, the reality is that we can’t support all versions of all web browsers and so definitely encourage staying current in this regard.

    Does that help?

OK – so did you change your website URL recently or anything like that? If so – or even if not – it could be worth visiting our license key management page, removing any existing entries and then returning to your website’s Licenses tab and re-entering the key.

Does that get you where you need to be?

    That is odd.

YES, I’ve deactivated all other plugins to check for a plugin conflict.
YES, I’ve reverted to the 2011 default WordPress theme (with other plugins still deactivated) to check for a theme conflict.

It looks like you noted having already run through our regular troubleshooting steps which is awesome. Can you confirm that that did not result in you uncovering any conflicts with other plugins/your theme?

I’m also curious as to if you repeat those steps again – and create a fresh recurring event the same thing happens.

    Can you confirm?

    Thanks!

    Ah, ok.

Perhaps it won’t be a great fit in these circumstances then – multiday events are simply events that span two or more days, so they have to be a block of consecutive days.

A side-effect of WooCommerce Tickets and it’s current lack of recurring events support though (please test before trying this out though, as it was only ever an unintentional side effect and may have changed) was that creating tickets for one event in a chain meant it was available for all of them.

So, in terms of stock control, this would – potentially – fit your scenario perfectly. That doesn’t eliminate the potential for user confusion, of course, but as before perhaps you could make it clear within the event description that they need only buy tickets once?

    Hi orgspring,

The best way to build a picture of how it all works is to set up a test event (that recurs a number of times) and inspect it in the database – essentially though there is a post for each instance – one parent post plus one or more child posts, all of the same post_type.

The “flag” used to indicate that an event is part of a recurring chain lives in the post meta table and is named _EventRecurrence which contains an amount of (serialized) information about the recurrence pattern.

    Does that help here?

Thanks Andy: unfortunately I can’t identify the code via the theme editor (it doesn’t always list every file making up a given theme) and so waiting out on the theme author’s response is probably the best course of action here 🙂

I can appreciate that – and we’re working as quickly as we can. I – or one of the team – will definitely do our best to re-open this thread and post an update at the appropriate time.

Thanks for your continued patience 🙂

    Great, glad that worked 🙂

With regards to the remaining issue, my guess is that your theme has some logic in place which uses the site name within that title under certain circumstances – without seeing the code I can’t really advise you about that, unfortunately, except that I’d expect the code in question to live within the theme’s header.php template (if it follows a standard layout) or else in page.php.

Is contacting the theme author an option for that one?

OK, I’m sorry we can’t do too much else at present. We are making some changes though that will make it a lot easier to dequeue our own Google Maps scripts.

One thing that does come to mind, though, is that if you can obtain a snippet from the theme authors to dequeue their Google Maps API script then we can probably give you some tweaks that will apply it only to single event and venue pages – which would avoid impact on any other sections of your site 🙂

This also makes sense from the point of view that The Events Calendar itself does not enqueue Google Maps on anything but its own pages so, in a sense, it is really your theme which is encroaching on The Events Calendar’s space rather than the other way round.

Hi – I’m sorry to hear you’re hitting difficulties.

I can definitely see that it is working as expected with the browsers available to me and a colleague independently checked using Safari and found no problem.

Can you confirm if this has been resolved since you initially posted the issue? Or else could you try clearing your browser cache and test again?

Failing that please let me know that you are still experiencing difficulties and if you could provide a note about the version of Safari you are using that would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi, that’s a great question.

It’s important to note right away that recurrence is not supported by WooCommerce Tickets at this time; with that in mind it may be best to make a multiday event rather than a recurring event and emphasize the particular conditions that apply within the event description.

    Would that work here?

Hi – sorry to hear you’re experiencing difficulties.

Just to clarify first of all – we don’t guarantee being able to respond to threads any sooner than within 24hrs of them being posted, not counting weekends (and typically the forums are staffed only during continental US working hours). “Bumping” threads unfortunately makes your thread appear more recent than it really is, so though that’s admittedly a quirk on our end it’s nonetheless something that is best avoided.

I’m really surprised to hear that you hit this with no other plugins active and only a default, unmodified theme, though – that’s not something I can replicate locally.

Is there any way I could take a peek at this under those conditions? I did try looking at the URL/IP address you provided, but it did not resolve to an actual WordPress website.

    Thanks!

in reply to: Admin Event Menu functionality missing #668621

Hi: I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties.

In simple terms, each position in the admin menu can be described numerically (one item might live at position #5, another at position #30, etc). Occasionally two plugins/a plugin and a theme might try to register menu entries at the same position and one can therefore overwrite the other.

With that in mind, are there any differences in the activated theme/plugins between each site that might explain this? I do see when you opened this thread you noted having run through our standard troubleshooting steps already which is awesome:

YES, I’ve deactivated all other plugins to check for a plugin conflict.
YES, I’ve reverted to the 2011 default WordPress theme (with other plugins still deactivated) to check for a theme conflict.

Thanks for taking the time to do that – can you confirm if this yielded indications of any potential conflicts?
