    Hi Sean – interesting question.

    It certainly looks like it would be possible to modify the existing Time of Day filter to do this but it’s a bit beyond what we can guide you through here on the forum.

    I’d definitely be interested to know how many other members of the community might be interested in this though and if you’d like to post this as a feature request on UserVoice that would be awesome and others can of course upvote it/comment further 🙂

    Hmm ok, it actually looks to me like it lines up nicely with the other widgets (with respect to the left hand margin). Is the problem that the content is cutting off? Could you add some additional CSS to contain it if so?

    .tribe-events-list-widget ol li {
        word-break: normal;
        max-width: 240px;
    }

    Does that help?

    Definitely do feel free to use private replies if you need to share private information like login credentials – but it’s appreciated if you could minimize using them when they aren’t needed since they make it hard for other users who might be facing similar problems to research threads like this one in the future. Thanks!

    I am using a static front page and for my blog page i just created a new page for my blog page and applied the default blog template to the page. (vellum Theme)

    OK. I can’t promise anything as really it’s sounding like the theme is doing something non-standard here, but if you want to make the theme available for us to download (whether by uploading it to Dropbox or some similar service – or just to your blog) we’d be happy to spend a couple of minutes checking it out in case anything obvious jumps out at us 🙂

    No problem, happy to help 🙂

    At this point I’ll go ahead and close the thread, but if we can help with anything else please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed and one of the team will be only too happy to assist.

    Thanks again!

    Ah, ok – thanks for letting us know.

    I wasn’t previously aware of any conflicts with post duplicator plugins – all I can really suggest is that you try out a handful and see which you like best that doesn’t also cause this problem.

    Yes, that makes sense and try to use location-based searches for this purpose is probably never going to be idea – even at a smaller scale – as the search area is basically a large circle centred on whatever location is provided, therefore it rarely meshes nicely with actual geographic boundaries.

    In this case I think I’d recommend categorizing your events appropriately – ie, set up a countries category with each actual country set up as child categories (or however you want to structure it) and you can then simply load the relevant category view.

    Would that work here?

    Hi Rachel,

    So that second issue with Community Events is actually a known bug that we’re hoping to solve in the very next release. In the meantime you could try out the strategy provided here as a temporary workaround – does that help?

    OK – so on deactivating WPML (and flushing the permalinks by visiting the Permalink Settings screen) the problem is resolved?

    If so, that’s unfortunate but not unexpected – WPML does seem to have an adverse impact on the operation of The Events Calendar/Events Calendar PRO and I’m afraid there isn’t too much else we can do to help with WPML conflicts at this time.

    OK, so the filepath for your custom template looks good to me but I do see an error in your code. If you look at lines 45-47 there is whitespace (a couple of extra line breaks in this case) breaking the -> operator in to two pieces.

    If you look at the code I shared, though, you’ll see that is all on one line. Can you review that and amend it, unless it’s simply a by-product of copying and pasting across to Pastebin?

    As per my last reply, I am a bit surprised though that you didn’t at least see some text reading, “This submission came from:” even if the insertion of the email address is broken due to the above. Can you confirm you literally saw no change there?

    and /plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/views/community/ for good measure (when it wasn’t working).

    We never recommend editing core code in this way, but out of interest were you able to effect changes to the template here that were visible in the actual emails?

    Hi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread (and so it will no longer be monitored by staff). If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!

    OK, so you don’t even see the text reading “this submission came from”? Can you show me your custom template code (ideally via Pastebin, Gist or some similar service) and could you also tell me the filepath you have placed it at?

    I tried changing the template of my actual blog page but it didn’t have any effect – the events still are not being pulled in.

    Can you tell me more about this – how is your blog page implemented? Normally it isn’t actually a “page” where you can modify the template or title but rather a default view generated by WordPress itself.

    Is it possible your theme has implemented it’s own “main blog loop”? We do sometimes see this and the problem in those cases is that it is not truly the main blog loop and so it doesn’t mesh with our own settings in that regard.

    Awesome, glad it helped 🙂

    I’ll go ahead and close the thread at this point – but if we can assist with anything else please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed and one of the team will be only too happy to help.

    Also, if you have a moment to spare, we’d love to hear your thoughts on The Events Calendar across on our plugin review page – thanks again!
